A merchant on the Island of Mara sells a series of new books containing recipes that require instance-dropped raws. Provisioners get the Rowan Berry Poultice and Rowan Berry Salve Pot, but both require 3 rare drops from the Guk instances, while all of the other recipies, for all of the other classes, only require one drop.

Is it a bug or did we get the short end of the stick on this one?

I believe every class needs 3 x rare for one of their recipes whislt the other recipe generally seems to require only 1 x rare.

For example, Woodworkers get 2 recipe books - Fletcher's Secrets of Mistmoore volumes I & II. Volume I contains the recipe for Bloodwood Bow of Sternum Piercing which needs 3 x rares. The Volume II book contains the recipe for Bloodwood Shield of Fangs which needs just 1 x rare.

Perhaps one of the Provisioner recipes should have 1 x rare though, so it might be worth a /bug.

I'm not sure what the rare is for the Provisioner recipes and how frequently it drops and there how much it would cost, but at the moment the Bloodwood Planks on AB are going for around 2-3PP each (were 30PP soon after launch)

Same for carpenters One book requires 1 rare while the other requires 3...

I wonder though, since the provisioner books are for a charm slot item... both similar in quality but for different classes, that might make the difference.

Just did a double check:

Rowan Berry Poultice requires 1 bunch of rowan berries

Rowan Berry Salve Pot requires a total of 3 bunches of rowan berries

I personally don't know why this is the case, both charms are fairly nice, but the healers/mages get the short end. Still stand by that these recipies should have equal requirements.

This subject was brought up a few days ago here.

It seems all professions have two recipes, one recipe that requires 1 speciel mat, and one recipe that rquires 3 special mats.

I do wonder about the OP saying both recipes require 3 berries, since all other people have said one recipe need 1 berry and 1 recipe need 3 berries. If the OP is right that her/his recipies both require 3 berries, it could seem he/she is indeed bugged and should probably /bug it and be fixed.

It does seem very wrong that one charm, similar in stats to the other, would require more of a very rare item to craft. Looks like from your link, that it spills over to other "like" crafted goods as well... I hope they revisit the recipes and make like items fall in line with like items. Even if they say three rares per crafting... just make them the same!

As a carpenter I have two items that cannot be put side by side to compare so having different component count requirements would probably go unnoticed.

As others have posted it is the general trend currently that one of the recipies require 1 of the components, and the other recipie requires 3 of the components. (note: If you are seeing your recipies require 3 for both items then you are bugged, I just checked my provi, and it's still the same Freaking melee's get easy peasy road of 1 (will charge them 2!!! till I get my charm) and healers are getting it in the back side taking 3)

I personally think that this is a bug, I mean seriously look at the charms they are identical except for the classes.

They drop in Guk. I have personally seen them drop twice from the Shin Lord in the Halls of the Fallen. I've never been to the other Guk instances.

The first time I got the berries and the second time a friend got them and gave them to me ... so now I have two and I need one more for the healer charm and there have never been any on the broker on the Guk server (kinda funny that, isn't it?) that I have seen and I check every day. /sob

Ele~
