After reminiscing of the days of my EQ1 shaman...I decided to quit WoW and come back and give EQ2 a try.

I miss bear form. I miss my woof. I miss cannibalize! Those things still available?

Other thing, I see a lot about the melee spec of a mystic, it sounds REALLY fun to me. Would I still be able to be a melee mystic and be a viable healer? Group and raid-wise?

Also, how do Mystics fare in solo PvP?

Bear, yes. Dogdog, yes. Canni, no.

Melee spec has no impact on our ability to heal.

I know nothing about PvP except that it wasn't all that much fun to me. On a PvP server, you will have a tough time doing any serious raiding or enjoying the benefits of it. Some of the PvP servers are ghost towns, from what I hear.

Awesome, thank you.

I'm trying to talk one of my WoW buddies to play with me. I told him about how I could mentor him (Does that give double exp to him?) and such, so we could still always play together.

I was also going to check into any promotions that might be going on, hate to bring up WoW again but they did a recruit-a-friend promotion where if you invited a friend and got them to buy the game and register, you both got triple exp for a few months.

In any case, what would be a good class for him to roll? I was going to tell him a tank class, so we could duo dungeons maybe.

The biggest issue I have with my Mystic in pvp is the slow cast time of the heals. Even if you get to throw up a ward, it's eaten through pretty fast, especially against a scout class with their high dps, so you find yourself trying to heal yourself and with interupts and stuns, it's darned near impossible. My Mystic is not level 80 yet and I know they get a higher ward at 80, so I'm hoping that will help alot and give me more time to throw up heals. My Mystic is not my main though, but I have been playing her for awhile and I really haven't had many pvp fights, so maybe I've just been having some bad luck cause I know there are some pretty uberific Mystics out there in pvp land! I do have to say that dogdog has gotten pretty viscious and it's so funny to watch him go after someone in pvp, until they slap him a good one that is

And groupwise, as long as the group can keep everyone off you, you can get the wards casted pretty well and even keep up with healing, although out of the healers I have played, they are not the best group pvp healers, that's just my opinion though!

Form of the Great Bear is long gone. After you have you mystic bear illusion and run around with it on for a day or two you will turn your illusions off.

If you want a shaman closer to your EQ1 shaman pick a defiler. Youll get Canni.I think the mystic is much stronger for solo / small group play but defiler is an awsome class as well.

If you and your buddy wanna roll up toons to play together I think a defiler/sk combo would complement eachother well.I had alot of fun with my Mystic/Monk combo as well =).

And PVP in eq2 is nothing like WoW. I miss BGs (a lil) (wow I never thought I would say that). =)
