Hi

Playing on a PvP server, I need every bit of edge that I can muster ...

I've had mastercrafted armour through every tier so far, and will soon be into my 40's and needing new armour once again.

I haven't got my moneys worth from any armour set so far - I outlevel it too quickly

So ...

Rather than spend a whole load of money on MC level 42 gear, I've been looking at the Mossy Blood Hide Armour to take me through the whole tier to 52

It has less mitigation than the MC stuff, but gives good bonuses and looks quite funky too.

This would be a money saving exercise (hopefully), can anyone tell me how I obtain this Armour and if its easily done / worth the hassle? Or do I just have to swallow spending a big lump of cash that I cant afford again?!

Thanks

OR

- Can anyone recommend to me a decent Fury armour set that will take me from 40-50 that is comparable to mastercrafted, but is questable or cheaper than MC?

(I've just looked on EQ2i - there doesnt seem to be any Tier 5 armour sets useable by a fury )

http://eq2.wikia.com/wiki/Category:...er_5_Armor_Sets

EDIT- I just logged in to look at that armor again. And for sure it's not worth it unless you and your tailor are just bored. The MC (lev 42) stuff blows it away, the Sanguine on the pants and the Heal on the BP are far better thann the in combat power on the Mossy stuff.

My answer may be incorrect as I haven't messed with my tailor for a bit but...

That armor needs to be made INSIDE Deathfist Citadel, so it's a huge hassle to get made. My tailor (on Naggy) is just an alt, adventure level 12, lev 48 tailor, so for example I would need an escort to get him in there and clear that area and room to make the armor. I don't know if the NPC in that room repops either 8(.

Plus like you said it's lev 37 armor. If you PVP alot you will out level it relatively fast even with other exp disabled.

My fury on Naggy is lev 46 and has a combo of MC and quested stuff and the stats seems to match up ok with others in the same level range.

If you can find a tailor that can get in there with you or one you can pay it may be worth it, otherwise IMO that armor was just a dumb idea by SOE.

I haven't directly compared the stats against MC armor, but since the revamp of MC I doubt it's worth it.

If you can put a group together to get my tailor in there I will do it, I stupidly bought all the books and never made one item LOL. You also need "blood iron ore" or something like that for the rare to make the armor. It used to sell for about 1 plat each but I doubt it goes for that anymore. I think I have a few in the bank I bought when I saw it cheap (at the time). I can usually log in late afternoons USA CST. PM me if you are interested.

Hey thanks for the reply, and for the very kind offer.

This armour is also tradeable and actually sells on the broker, for a ton of cash!

I think I should forget this mossy hide gear, so I need to make a choice:

Spend the cash, buy MC at 42 then feel depressed when I get to 52 at the money I've wasted...

Stay in my 32 MC armour and try to race through this next tier, then spend the money on 52MC

Or spend less money on handcrafted/treasured etc to get me by. No wait, that stuff looks like garbage compared to what I'm already wearing!

So far I've taken option 1) for every tier, it looks unavoidable since I'm on Nagafen and I need to stay competetive

never mind!

Thanks again WasFycksir

Racing ahead has other ramifications beyond armor (and some spells). You will be behind on AA's too. Furies have some pretty good ones and racing ahead can put you at a great disadvantage other than armor.

My fury on Naggy is named Koercer, lev 46 like I said, 73 AA's (I think), which puts me at two I cannot even use. I am only gaining exp on PVP right now. Which is few and far between. I quested in Steamfont yesterday solo for 1.5 hours and never saw an enemy.

When you get closer to lev 42 send me an in-game mail and I will make your lev 42 junk for cost. DON'T send rares or cash yet, just in case I am busy or something (unlikely but possible), but we can arrange that later. My tailor is named Thuk, look him up so you know my tailor claim is legit.

Oh and I fully understand the AA situation - The only problem is that I really want to PvP but I have trouble finding opponents... I thought it was because of my level, that with the xp changes recently everyone is now levelling to max as fast as possible so noone stays in these lower tiers for very long at all.

So I wanted to get up to tier 5/6 and then lock adventure xp. My AA's are 30 at lvl 38 so I am definitely lagging a bit. I'd level lock right now and do a load of quests but 1) its not easy to find a group, and 2) there's not many opponents to kill.

Every time I have hit the new MC tier (12, 22, 32) I've kitted myself out and wanted to lock, then have become disillusioned for the reasons above and re-enabled adventure xp. Levelling so fast I feel as though the game is passing me by and there's loads of stuff I've missed already (this is my first toon)... but I came here to PvP and for that I need opponents!
