ok got my SK to lvl 75 and yes i love the class i group pvp with my guild most of the time and there is almost nothing i can not solo better then most classes.. here is my thing though once i hit 80 get all my pvp gear and such unless im raiding there will be no point to th egame other then PVP for titles.. so here is the deal i knwo in the new instances i can tank them like a champ and we have even gone in them with 2 tanks twice one was my sk and a paly and the other was my sk and a guardian... both times it seems like the healers had to be more busy with the paly and guard and i had the huge problem because just from my built in taunts to my spells and such i was pulling agro even when i was not trying too....

well so maybe i just had bad luck and have only seen bad paly's and guardians but from what i understand that people will only use them for raiding. i would like to know why is it that raid leaders have it in there mind thoughs are the only two tanks and dont care about anything else or is it that somehow they have just seen to many crapy SK's wich has ruined the rep for SK's to be MT in raids...

so here is my real question im 75 got all my spells and such but should i switch now before its to late cause once i hit lvl 80 im sure it will cost me 20x more to get all my spells then it would at 75 i would also like to know why i should switch and what are the pro's and con's of the SK in group pvp and raids at lvl 80

Guards and Pallys are typically chosen for MT roles becuase that is our primary design/function. Not how you have an easy time in places like Befallen where it is easy to pull 2-3 encounters of multiple mobs - that is much harder for a guardian to hold aggro on than an SK due to primary role of the tank - your class is great at AOE control, mine (guardian) is not. My class is great at single target aggro control and more importantly "save your ahrse skills." While you may find it easy to solo a great nmber of things guardians do not. We are great at mitigating damage, avoiding damage through proper use of Stone Sphere, Tower of Stone, and Block. Also, if AGI spec'd we can use Dragoon Stance - 12s prevent incoming frontal damage (Zerks get this too) - typically we wont spec on AGI thouhg as other lines are more beneficial for most mobs but the Dragoon Line is typically saved on our mirrors. Also, our epic decreases incoming damage from the mob. In short - our job is to slug through levels, watch crusaders and brawlers get all the PVP cheers, watch brawlers FD to any name they think they can kill solo (while we have to box our healer there, or take a grp) watch crusaders go ape crazy on AOE mobs, and keep slogging forward towards our purpose - holding and sustaining the damage from the end game content.

There are raid encounters out there that SK/pallies excel at that guards can do but not as well. Venril Sathir is a crusader fear spec fight (does not have to be but hey - they dont get feared so let em at it while the guard is in their group tower of stoning and interceeding them to prevent damage (free guard ward ftw)). Also, the sisters in hate REQUIRE a crusader and a brawler in additon to the warrior.

So in short, you all excell in aoe content and fear content (Everfrost instance suxxor on a guardian - non curable fear for the irritation factor SOE?) Can we do it - yhea - but its irritating. Can we do Befallen bum rush mob zone - yhea - but we pretty much have to be AGI spec'd to hope to keep it off the warlocks if in a PUG, with an guild A-team np - mobs dead b4 defiler ward wears off but I bet that zone is very tough for a heroic non raid geared guardian. It is far easier for a crusader especially new SK tuants. We excell when it comes to mitigating damage, blocking incoming damge, and holding aggro on the big nasties for the rest of the raid to kill. Thats our job.

Well, maybe the crusader revamp is sadly a side effect of lack of AOE encounters in ROK. With little AOE content the incentive to group with crusaders decreased as guards perform better at tanking solo mobs, so they felt screwed and rightfully cried for nerf/boost. The super sexy guardian mythical did not help either Now TSO seems to be quite AOE heavy, so probably it's crusaders' turn to shine. Well the point I'm trying to make is maybe the classes are/were not badly designed, maybe the content is badly designed, too much solo encounter or too much AOE encounter oriented. Providing content that suits every classes would maybe do better than changing classes, promoting some and deranking some in the process.

Actually from what I have done of the TSO content it is a Zerk's dream for tanking. Multipal mobs per encounter adds on the bosses but not to many just enough for 1 aoe tank but to much for a guard with out an OT. In short perfect for a group of 6 with Zerk so long as the Zerk is Stam, Int, and Str spec ( best spec pre 70 imo ).

I agree with what you said about the SK and Pally though I have played both and currently have a 49 Pally that I group with a 49 SK ( my wife ) and we decimate group encounters have a lil trouble with solo encounters ( like the Champ in DFC for a ref ) as the Boss's are a lil stronger then if they have adds but we can still get em down. I will say that I have an easier time keeping agro with my Pally then as an SK due to some of the built in abilities for pulling 25% hate of anouther party member and such which puts the Pally ( imo ) some place between the AOE tanks and Guard as Zerk and SK do not have this type of ablitiy ( that I know of ). Which in all honesty is why I betrayed my SK to Pally ( also so I could group with my wifes SK and not be running same nonstackable buffs ) I have a Zerk so I really did not see the point in haveing 2 ""primary"" AOE tanks. Yes a Zerk can tank a single mob encounter but they really shine in multi mob encounters ( in my experiance ) but not as well as a Guard or Pally on a single mob from what I have seen.
