Just looking for some opinions on the use of both these buffs. Our raid make-up tends to be other than the "optimal" configuration. We run with 2 coercers and I tend to be in the off tank group that has either a guard or SK with a swashy or assassin. Most times a monk or bruiser ends up in it also but sometimes another scout dps. I tend to want to use all available con slots for impetus on the fighters and scouts, especially the hate transfer scout. The raid leader usually wants Peaceful link from both coercers on 6 people. Usually get him talked down to 1 or 2. We do have one bezerker that tends to have high DPS and pulls agro from the MT <pally in our case with amends on his assassin> and he is always crying for peaceful link. Not looking for a raid make up discussion as it is what it is and our guild is not raid centric but we do raid often and are somewhat successful. 1/2 way thru VP and low TSO raid mobs. Again just looking for some thoughts on how to use these buffs most effectively or should they both be scrapped for a pet???

Side note: Haven't played a coercer for very long. I have been a long time Warlock with an assassin secondary < both 80> that were put aside to fill the needed slot of a coercer since we had none. The other guild coercer is in the same situation him being a long time guard/zerker <betrayed to swap> and monk player. Any suggestions I get here I will be passing on to him.

TIA

Azeban

It depends on the raid force, its organization, the encounters, your group... as always, for most of our spells.

One thing to note: Peaceful link can be put on anyone in the raid, impetus is group only.

You're up the creek with this if your MT can't hold agro from the raid force. What is the MT group make up? What are the hate transfers in that group? It makes more sense to put peaceful link around on the raid rather than impetus on, say, your assassin who is transferring his hate to the OT who is snatching agro from the MT.

But it makes it essential for the coercer in the MT group to put impetus on the tank and the brig/swash/assassin in that group so that the MT gets more Hate, allowing everyone in the raid to do a little more without the risk of the MT losing agro.

Assassins have a good dps selfbuff the coercer buff on them makes it close to useless.Does the MT coercer put his hate trans on the pally, because this would be bad if the pally has Amends on Assassin and the Assassin the hate trans on the pali.

Rather get amend the coercer, Coercer hate trans to pali and assassin hate trans to coercer (and not to the Pally!)

A little good amount of the hate a coercer generates comes from power regen and manaflowing too btw, still no need to spamm those but the little here and there generatres a little aggro too.

The other thing is that Wicked Wand of Malice generates a decent amount of hate and even more on the long run, nice thing to aim for as mt coercer.

Also you shouldn't run with a assassin in MT group in zones like VP tbh. Rather templar, shaman, Warden, tank, dirge and coercer. The Tank benefits more from the offence buff of the warden as from the hate trans of the assassin.

If you have mythcial then use a pet the most time i think =).

I think buff peacefull link like once every 3 weeks tbh, the rest of the time DPS for my group, myself and my pet.

I would say more Impetus than links make sense. I generally have 2-3 Impetus up (MT, scout and maybe dirge) and 0-1 links up (Brigand or ?) We sometimes have two coercers in raid and may have up to 3 links between us two. Anything more than that and I start to think you need to solve the agro problem another way. For us, unwanted agro generally comes on pull, and if people just show a little restraint, the tank can build up some agro and it shouldn't be an issue.
