I downloaded ACT, neato program. I thought I'd run through some DPS tests.

I took my level 41 brig out to Steamfont. I pick a level 41 pale spitting spider. I do the standard sneak, backstab, walk the plank, stun, run through backstabs, then finish off with HO. Mob dead, about 6 seconds according to ACT. 560 DPS... pretty impressive.

I go through a couple more mobs that equal my level. They consist of other spiders, minotaur, etc. etc... about the same. I go from about 480 dps to about 630 or so on a good burst.

I log in my freshly 72 conjuror. He's in RoK gear with AD3 / Master spells, 620 int. I was pretty disappointed by seeing 450ish on single target mobs and about 650 on times where I get two at the same time and can AOE.

I do the same with my freshly 70 necro. Rok gear with AD3 / Master spells, 690 int (cept darkness which I just use to pull) and he cranks about 400-500 at max.

Somethings wrong here. I know there is a difference between RoK mobs and steamfont yard trash, but really that much?! I don't want to make this another summoners need SERIOUS help thread, we have enough, but has anyone else seen or can confirm this insanity? Should I not assume that my DPS should be much higher on my higher level toons than on a level 41? Am I just comparing apples to oranges?

Aerlik, please give the summoners some luv ( and not nerf anyone ). This is depressing. I'm a pet lover at heart.

I can only imagine the parses at 80 with VP stuff on, since it benefits melee more than casters. What do brigs / brawlers parse at 80 vs summoners? Anyone got any numbers?

(Sorry if this seems hard to read / stream of consciousness type posting. Work turns my brains into puddin)

Part of the necro dps is the pet so if you name your pet the same name as you it will add it. Or just add the 2 together, since I'm lazy I don't. When I do that I run a [Removed for Content] 1.1k but I'm not a raider and usually will only group with my guild.

We have to have the right AA's, we have to have the right Gear, and we have to have the right support.

Now while soloing your DPS is supposed to be much lower than a scout. You can't maintain high DPS while soloing because you will get agro and you wear cloth armor so you will die.

However if you spend points in different AA's you can use your Scout or Mage pet to Solo and DPS much higher, but this method is extremely challenging and not suggested for anyone who doesn't want to fight through the frustration of learning how to do it.

However you will notice that once you finish out your solo AA's on your Necro you will be able to solo mobs that your scout couldn't even dream of soloing.

You are indeed comparing apples to oranges here.
