First off greetings, and thanks for reading this. I have recently bought TSO and inserted the two disks, and immediately things went bad... things seemed fine, but once the little black box SOE thingy came up, it told me I needed to set up Station Launcher...

OK, done, now I cannot get past inital log in because it says Javascript needed, I have no idea what this is. I have the latest JAVA installed. I digress, I am using a Sony Vaio laptop, Vista, Intel Premium Dual CPU T2390 1.86 GHz, 1.87 GHz, 3.0 GB, and 32 Operation bit system.... I guess that would help.

I went in and set it up to run in XP Service Pack 2 mode, and disabled the UAV (or whatever three letter thingy it was) Yeah, I am so not techincal.

I used to play EQ2 many moons ago, but recently decided to jump back in, and with new expansion.. seemed like a wonderful time. Someone please help... thanks.

Sounds more like an Explorer issue than an EQ2 issue. I'd suggest FireFox to avoid that and other issues.

http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/

Assuming you have some form of broadband, that sounds like an unreasonable amount of time for the download.

While there can be other causes, a router is the most common cause for this type of issue. Are you using a router in your network setup? If so, then you'll probably want to try bypassing it temporarily to see whether or not that corrects the issue. If bypassing corrects the problem then we'll need to have you set up port forwarding.

BTW, merging the duplicate thread.

Thanks for your reply, I have no idea what you are talking about though. All I know I have been d/l for about 5 hrs now, and still no bubbles done. I have Satalitte internet connection. HughesNet to be exact. and last time I played EQ2 I didn't have half these problems...

I am not exactly PC literate, so if anyone could help me out by using small words lol, I would be greatly appreciate it.

Do you have more than one computer or other device using your internet connection? If so, then you have a router in your network. The router will usually be a box between your modem and your computer. The internet cable will go from your modem to your router and then from your router to your computer. If you have a box like that then you may want to try plugging your computer directly into the modem, avoiding the router entirely.

Before worrying about all of that, though... Are you starting the game by right clicking on the everquest 2 icon and selecting 'run as administrator'? If not, you will definitely want to do so.

That said, satellite connections are notorious for causing problems with online games, so there may be some issue regardless.
