I decided last night to come back to EQ2 after taking a little break. I ended up purchasing the retail box instead of the digital download because, quite frankly, the new mount was too beartastic to pass up.

Anyhow, last night I also realised that my DVD drive has decided to no-longer read DVDs (thanks Spore ... A topic for another board).

Since I still have EQ2 and the ROK expansion still intalled on my PC. If I were to just add my activation key to the "Enter Activation Code" screen on my Station.com account without installing the TSO dvd-rom, would that get me access to the expanison pack?

I'm 99% certain that this will work, just wanted to double check.

You've got it right. Just enter the CD key and the next time you run the launcher it'll download all the TSO content (that hasn't been downloaded already, a lot of it was pre-loaded in the week before release). In fact it's probably faster to download than to use the DVDs. The DVDs were pressed probably a month before release, when the game was going into wide beta. A lot of stuff was changed since then, so if you install the DVD the launcher will have to download almost as much in updates as if you hadn't used the DVDs. In fact it may have to download more, the DVD installer may overwrite some of the pre-downloaded files forcing the launcher to download them again.
