Need help from more experienced Guardians for what the spell does and or what the point of it is:

-When target dies this spell will cast Death's Door on caster...

-Heals caster for 22.5% of max health.

-Applies Exploding Heart on termination

-Grants 1 trigger of the above.

So a spell that kills me when it wears off... okay... lol

It's a save vs death that buys you an extra 30 seconds. Look at it this way... if it procs you've already died.

Sometimes it keeps you alive long enough to kill the named before it kills you.

Well it did once for me.

Nifty group saver, since once the tank is gone, the group can wipe quite easily (obviously depending on the group) so it could be some extra time to take down the mob and be rezzed, instead of everyone dying and starting all over at the top of the dungeon.

In a long fight it can also wipe your group easily. All death saves fire at the same time, so if you have a good healer and they fire their death intervention off on you and you have Unyielding Will up, you just killed the group/raid assuming the fight lasts longer than 36 more seconds and the rest of them cannot recover once you drop.

It's a great ability if used properly. Do not use it with alturism as it will still proc even if altruism procs so 2 save buttspells do not stack properly. keep it as a last resot basically. Oh and if your a zerker you can remove the death portion which is nice for them, but blows for guards. lol.

Alturism FDs you before you die. Which is kind of annoying for me because I often happen to be casting tower of stone when it procs, so it's wasted anyway.

Every time I have used UW with alturism it has procced both of them and then I die shortly after due to an exploding heart....

I use it. I do other things besides raid which is where it really can come in handy.

For instance I'll use it when soloing a named and I'm going to die. Usually it gives me enough time to get the mob dead and loot the box. I've found it invaluable in heroic content. Get the mobs dead and then my heart explodes after the encounter is done.

I even use it on raids. My healers have save deaths macrod so I know when they use them. If they don't use them and I'm about to die, I use unyielding will. It has saved us from complete wipes before by letting us kill the mob in the 30 seconds I die, or telling the raid you have 30 seconds then the OT will have it. Lets him and the healers get ready for the OT to pick up the encounter and to immediately get a no sickness rez for me. It has also given us an extra 30 seconds to play with a mob we are trying to learn before the raid wipes.

My raid leader and members don't mind it. After all if it proc's I've already died. I just bought the raid a second chance for another 30 seconds. The trick is a little communication so you aren't overwriting other save vs deaths.

I've never used unyielding will when I had alturism up, but it FD's me when I have about 10% - 20% hp remaining and unyielding will doesn't proc unless I die which = -1.5k hp or so (with shaman AA). If it's proccessing for you are you sure it doesn't pop when you stand back up and die? When I stand back up after alturism FDs me, the mob runs straight back to me, so I'll usually either wait for a heal, or stand back up and immediatly block and/or ToS.

Unyielding Will has it's uses, and if you don't use it that's up to you. But knowing when and how to use it can sometimes make a difference between killing a mob and not killing a mob.

They need to have it put an exploding heart debuff in your debuff window, and make it counterable by a second deathsave from a priest or someone else. Then communication would matter and be of use. Either that or make it so deathsaves stack properly giving it lowest priority. I have had it up and had the hand of death proc thus killing myself for no reason because hand of death would have saved me anyway. How is one supposed to know when the hand will proc so they don't use UW?
