I logged in 10 minutes before the usual patch time fully expecting the servers to come down. I would expect daily patches following an expansion. Especially if people are still creating plat, and there was a message of the day concerning that..

While I was slightly annoyed, as soon as the server plopped me out I looked at the time and figured it out. However, I concur that a warning would've been nice, though I also blame my own laziness for not checking the network status page each morning.

So in their defense, they did post about it on network status page. And yes, I realize not everyone looks at it, but they're not required to give warnings in game; that's simply a courtesy.

I think they should've given a small warning at least. As a somewhat new player, it's frustrating not to know when the server is coming down, and not everyone is staring at the time either.

Kind of amusing that there was a post on the website about it, yet no in game warning.

That said, as someone else said daily patches are usual for a short time after an xpac.

people dont look there because soe has a bad habit of NOT updating it.

so in game notice would be nice.

im just hoping this fixes some of the quest bugs and gets rid of the insane lag in the new zones....5 secs between hitting a spell button and haveint actualy cast is a pain.

Folks, standard operating procedure after an expansion is installed is to expect that the servers will be taken down every day during the week at 7am PST for at least the following two weeks. It's as predictable as the sun rising in the east, or winter following autumn.

no whats as predictable as the sun rising is the abundance of LON tourny spam adverts popping up every 20 minutes... they need to use the SYSTEM MESSAGE for what its supposed to be fore, system messages.. not forcing Advertising on us... i pay 15 a month to not be bombarded for advertisements... but sony seems to think that because its their product they are advertising thats ok... System messages need to be used for system down times and warnings.. not advertising crap games put out by Sony trying to suck more money out of their already paying customers... I wasnt on, but i know its a PITA when it just crashes to the select and you dont know what happened, you think its a memory leak or some bug, so you try to log back in... and it doesnt work.... Get the LON guys off their arshes and have them delete the LON tourny messages that they spam all day and type in a System coming down message... they can probably do that... they get paid $4million a month... should be able to figure it out

The simple answer is:

There was no warning on the forums because I didn't know when the downtime was occuring to tell you.

When I know, I tell you.

As for in game, I can only conjecture that they're working the fixes as fast and as hard as they can and some of the details slip through the cracks now and again in the interest of making the game work.

I apologize for the inconvenience and the lack of warning.
