So I only came back to EQ 2 after a 2 1/2yr absence a few days ago. Everyone in game told me to go unarmed untill the expansion came out because of the strength line not affecting weapons. With the expansion, the line is no longer weapon restrictive. So, my question is:What is the Unarmed dmg/speed per level for the Bruiser so I know whether to be unarmed or use a weapon for highest DPS.

Str Line effects weapons now... But still fun to throw massive DPS out unarned.

so does this mean weapons always doing more DPS than unarmed now?

Yes it will Always be better dps with appropriate level weapons. Your best bet is to start of with 4s delay master crafted weapons until you get better.

I have the full str line which brings my str to 728. My hands melee stat is something like 342 I'll have to double check. With weapons it goes down, my delay goes up ,but brings my str up as well. I would rather hit hard and often, then hit fewer and softer.

Yeah, I have noticed though that I have no weapons that are better than my fists, even with stat increases from the weapons. However, I really like the fact that weapons are viable now, it is just a matter of finding good weapons though since unarmed DPS scales so nicely.

thing is if i remember right that your unarmed fist counts only as a single weapon , so you get only 1 hit and to 21 % a double. with 2 weapons even weaker than the fist weaponstats you get always 2 hits and some times 3 to 4 with double attack. so it should be way better now than unarmed even with only crafted weapons.

didnt make a parse yet but thats the theory.

Correct me if im wrong, but the STR line used to benefit you only if you had no weapons, now its not that way, it was nerfed from 96 percent double to 21 percent double, but you can use weapons... so now there seems no point in not using weapons as they provide procs and stats and you get no benefit from not using weapons anymore from the AA line.

If I rememeber correctly the old strgth line worked as a two handed weapon that double attacked 96% of the time as long as no weapons were equipt. New strgth line allows weapons or no weapons but is 21% double attack but that double attack is counted 21% for primary attack weapon as well as for the offhand weapon. The old strgth line wasn't even actually considered as true duel wielding.

So to me a brawler will definately loose out now if no weapons are used. Also the unarmed dps mod no longer exsists either. Bummer on that one.
