Problems with patcher

<p>When I bring up the launcher, it stays on "Patcher Initializing".  The strange thing is, I got it to work a few times and it downloads for about 10 min and it stops.  I bring up the launcher again and I am still dealing with "Patcher Initializing".  Some things I did to try to fix it are:</p><p>1.) I right clicked on the EQ2 icon and went to propertities, then to  Compatibility and I checked the box to run as Windows XP Service pack 2. (I have windows Vista).</p><p>2.) I also went to MSconfig and then to tools and I disabled UAC.</p><p>3.) I also right clicked the EQ2 Icon and went to security and I have everything on Allow.</p><p>4.) I disabled my firewall and a few other things on my Norton.</p>

<p>I did everything that you posted and I thank you for your help. I have UAC disabled, I right clicked on the EQ2 folder under program files and sony and nothing is on deny all is allow.  I right clicked on the EQ2 Icon and I went to properties and compatibility and I clicked on the windows XP SP2,I also click on run as admin and I am still having the same problems.</p><p>The strange thing is, I will somethimes get it to start downloading and the orange bar will be going from left to right, but after about 5 to 10 min of downloading it will stop and my est. time remaining will just keep going up.  I then close out the launcher and when I bring it up again I am battling the "Patcher initializing" and it will not download until after many tries it will start but on for the 5 to 10 min.</p><p>I am at a loss</p>

<p>Yes, each time I run the launcher I right click the EQ2 Icon on my desktop and I click run as adm.  I have done just about everything that sony has listed to help the launcher run with Vista.</p><p>The crazy thing is, I will restart the PC (or turn it on) and when it loads I click on the EQ2 Icon and run as adm. the launcher will work and start scanning files and then it starts to download.  It will go great for about 10 to 15 min and then it will just STOP.  Now it does not cancel the download, the orange line just stops and the est. time remaining will just keep increasing.  I left it alone for several hrs to see if it would start to download again, but it does not.  I close out the launcher and when I bring it back up again running as adm. it just stays on "patcher initializing".  It will keep doing the patcher initializing until I restart the PC and try it again.  If there was a setting wrong on my PC, wouldn't just not work at all?</p><p> It is like the launcher is just giving me a few files at a time.  I have about 2 hr and 30 min of files left to play the game.</p><p>This thing is driving me CRAZY!!</p>
