First of all, I know this is nothing new and that SK itemization is seriously lacking, I’m just looking for some early T8 direction.

I just “Dinged” 72 on my SK and was looking forward to upgrading my gear to MC 72 and was sadly disappointed when I looked at the Devout Set (what does an SK need with + Ministration).

Anyway, I’m looking for opinions/options to upgraded gear at 72 (mobs hit HARD in RoK and I need to do something, I’m wasting my blue AoE’s as if I get pummeled by more than 2 mobs, or sometimes 2 yellow solo mobs, I’m eating dirt). Will I get more bang for my buck by going STR/STA/AGI set with +Def and +CA Dmg, going with caster Jewelry???

Any advice would be great.

Think Tank first. I recommend Vanguard helm shoulder and um i think wrist. these all have 1 shield block on them Imbued ring of strength is nice. otherwise you can mix and match Vanguard with the str/int focused armors. don't go for int gear unless it also has str and preferably stamina or agility.

Look at items with defense and parry. and focus on your melee before your spells, Melee crit is king and double attack is nice too. after that +ca/spell damage.

Suffer thru it until you have enough shards to buy the Void Shard armor introduced in TSO.

Wear a mix of devout and vanguard. That gives you +CA and +SD enough, and you only kind of feel like a pally.
<p$1$2>

When you get to 74 or so get an instance group together and go to Sebilis. Turn left at the mezzanine and turn right in the room full of merchants. Go up the stairs and fight to the bank. There are two names you'll run into, one drops nice plate boots the other nice plate legs.
<p$1$2>

Do the Gwalnax Brigade quests in Chardok next. You turn in a bunch of spears to get faction then head into chardok. Here you can get decent gloves and helmet from the quest.
<p$1$2>

Run vaults. You can get sanct. set pieces and a decent shield for SK. You'll also get a necklace worth having.
<p$1$2>

Run Maidens. A lot. You'll eventually get the shoulders off Drusella. You'll wear those for a while.
<p$1$2>

Go down to lower seb. The guard captain there drops a ring you'll want. Kill Kotiz for decent chest armor.
<p$1$2>

Now go to RE2. Take out slamhammer and loot the best chest armor you'll see without raiding.
<p$1$2>

You should be all set now- except this advice is worthless because the expansion will have better gear.
