<p>We were recently discussing the Nights of the Dead event and why the D'Ryil vampires were there instead of vampires from Loping Plains. At first i didnt think too much of it, even the Boss was a D'Ryil vampire and the picture of Cristanos in the haunted house (but no pic of Mayong) it didnt sound any bells it just seemed odd. A few nights ago i was logged into Beta and decided to head over to Loping to see if the NotD event was up in Beta,.. i didnt get far enough to tell. As i arrived there a slew of new quest givers for the zone have appeared in Somborn village, and more then a few of them are Freethinkers.</p><p>Some of the quest givers themselves are the usual "do this and recieve a void shard" quest givers, but I came across Marshal Ralem Cristoff, who recognized me from the Peacock club series. He offered me a new Freethinkers quest to slay some Libant (vampiric - higher ups) and to retrieve a comrade (no void shard but instead a new item), but the good Marshall mentioned something... rather odd.</p><p style="text-align: center;"><img src="http://i45.photobucket.com/albums/f52/darkmoon_legion/MarcusThex-1.jpg" /></p><p style="text-align: left;">So... maybe im just a bumkin whos not made much of his time to go into the Freeport or Qeynos mage towers.. but which Thex was Marcus again?</p>

<p>I would think that would have to be a Prince of Felwithe. <p>It's an early addition of a NPC from TSO. I'm in Beta and I've done his quest. Though I won't spoil what happens, atleast not until after Nov 18th or if I'm asked =P</p>

<p>Koada'Vie was a term for high elf paladins, if I recall correctly (plus, I do recall a secret tunnel in the paladin guildhall in EQ1 Felwithe).</p>

<p>I remember the secret passage in Felwithe too.  It led up and around the edges of the city, along the city walls, and up along the hills surrounding the city, if I recall.  You could jump down into the moat to get down, but you couldn't get up there without the passage.</p>

If Mayong <em>is</em> Roadyle, it makes sense.  If it has a connection to Neriak's vamps, there are a couple reasons I could think of for them to capture him.</p>

Sacred generally mean something of religious significants. Most likely one of the many objects (or creatures) touched by Tunare. Since Marcus is a paladin, and I don't believe high elf paladins had any other choices in EQ1, the artifact being from a different diety would be shocking.</p><p>As for the reason for his capture, he has a legitimate claim to the throne and could be a rallying figure in any attempt to retake Felwithe. If he spread tales of the corruption amongst the High Councle and his sister the Queen being held prisoner he could probably raise an army to retake the city.</p><p>And if he managed to free himself, it would be natural for him to become an enemy of Mayong Mistmoor.</p>
