Hello, I am a noob paladin. I just recently betrayed from an SK to a pally im lvl 42 with about 2100 power. I like paladins so far but im having power issues example -> I never had a problem soloing Varsoon with a character above 40 but I run out of mana with my Paladin. I noticed I only have 142 WIS and over 300 INT from my old SK gear. I cant find any MC gear with STR and WIS so I was wondering how could I balance out my gear and get more power? I currently have 3 pieces of Ebon devout. I was thinking of going 3 pieces of STR, STA and INT and 3 pieces of STA, WIS, INT and jewelry the same way or all 6 Devout armor and all STA and WIS on jewelry. Any advice?

Paladins need a LOT of good gear to solo well... but we will never be an effective soloer as a SK.

Make sure you solo in offensive gear/stance.. allthough its not worth switching 1h/shield to a 2h..

And are you specced for solo(i.e. dps) aa wise?

Pally's get more power (mana) from Str then we do from Wis. Something like 2.5 power/str point and 1.7power/wis point. I'm not sure of the exact numbers but that looks about right. Also don't worry about swapping too much gear around, Pally's need int too, although SK's have more spells to benifit from it.

What are you planning to use him for? if it's just to solo and and do group stuff, you're gonna kick yourself when the expansion comes out.

If you're willing to sacrifice damage to your sword, you can use an adorn (either the vampiric or phantom one) that will siphon power from the enemy to add to your own.

Check my player profile and gear as a waypoint (it has the cloak adorn wrong in that profile, as it's a power regen one that Provisioners can make - +2 in-combat power regen). Every piece has a small +4 to +6 STR adorn, so my STR was raised somewhere to +12 above even MC gear for a little extra power too. You can juggle more power by researching the gear drops for what has more, but that level 52 setup is easier to get and enough to solo most higher 3 to 5 sentient mobs with enough power left over.

Plus, as the Barbarian race has opportunities to have 2 +5 power regens. So on my character has currently +12 power regen.

Finally, check your food and use what you need. 5hr drinks like espresso has the higher out of power regen (so needed in dungeons before another mob pops) but don't offer a stat boost. Otherwise use the WIS/STA drinks (usually 3hrs duration) and STR/STA food for a little boost. At level 42, get the Hopple Apple pie for STR/STA.

While researching the Crusader AAs and experimenting, if you want to kill more by spells by all means go down the INT line -- 4-4-8 . Got spell crits upto 62% that way. Great on AoE. But switched into maxing the AGI line to get more than just the Trample ability -- in a high DPS group spell crits aren't very important than the ability to control the AoE situation and mob on you.
