<p>Base combat art damage will not be limited by the cap on your particular CA.  The cap on +CA mod is 50% of the Base.  Lets take Front Kick, and lets say for you it's doing 600-1200 damage.   the most +CA damage you can use is 300 for the low side, and 600 for the high side, so in reality, you begin to stop seeing benefits after 300. </p><p>  BASE CA modifier looks at the CA damage value, before bonus's are applied, and ups the minimum, and therefore what the new cap will be.  It is generally better to have BASE CA damage than +CA damage. </p>
