Hello,

I just hit 74 and need to drop the STR line and find weapons. I am specced for DPS, always grouped with same buddies: 2 healers, wizzy, dirge and guard.

I can't decide on weapons that have high str or some +CA dmg and/or haste. For example, if a weapon has 40 STR and another 20 Str but with 10 CA dmg, which is better? what is the formula for how much dps each pt of STR? I guess this question could apply for any item.

All my gear is Mastercrafted and my AA pts in DPS based on advice I read here on forums... AGI/WIS/INT and for now STR. I'm using parser to beep when my autoattack triggers to get my timing right. All dps spells(except the self-haste one) are Ad3. Punching a trainning doll, I'm getting about 1,200 dps which doesnt sound right at all. What should that be once I get weapons?

I will not be raiding any time soon (IF I do) so If you can tell me what weapons to buy, non-raid zone, quests or named to farm, I'd appreciate it. Preferably something I can get at lvl 75 since I just bought the Knuckle Duster then I'll look into getting better stuff later on. I just need something very quickly cuz my dps is hurting.

My char has greatly improved thanks to the info on these forums and I greatly appreciate any info you can provide.

Niether seems to make a huge difference. More important is crit, DA and the weapons damage rating and spread.

If you just bought the Knuckle Dusters you are on the right track. To maximize dps look for another 2.5 sec delay weapon (MC or Legendary whatever you can get first). If you have to stick with MC until level 80 thats ok, at that point you can do your epic weapon quest and have a nice matching delay weapon. That will help your dps a ton.

As far as stats go, I tend to assume that 20 str beats +10 to CA dmg (unless you mean +10% -in which case where did you find this thing and can I have one). An easy way to test this is on the training wall in Kunzar Jungle or on a training dummy in your guild hall.

Other options would be to finish your Soulfire questline and use that weapon or get a pick-up raid and kill contested Mayong in MMIS for the Star Sharpened Cestus. Both are good weapons and will hold you over until you get your epic.

At level 74 pay little/no attention to parse numbers in these threads. They are mostly from bruisers/brawlers with much better gear and group buffs. Your dps should go up with your level and will sky rocket with a few gear upgrades and the right buffs.

Hope that helps.

Thanks alot for the info guys!!

I equipped the Knuckle Duster and a MC and my DPS was cut in half. I'm guessing it's cuz I dont have any DA and etc gear. Again I'm still wearing all MC gear.

The weapon delays are off, one is 1.1 other 1.4. I know it matters but that much?

Do I just need to wait for better gear or am I doing something wrong.

The best thing you can do at this point is go back to MC weapons with both having a 2.5 delay. The knuckle dusters are a 2.0 sec delay. The reason for matching delays at 2.5 is this is what our epic delay and you need to be used to timing your CAs appropriately. I know the knuckle dusters appear to be a nice item however the stats are deceiving when comparing the dmg/delay of the weapon which is most important.

Other items you may want to start working on getting are the blue question collection belt. Chodikai (sp) Collars which give a nice melee belt. Other than that once you get 80 do your epic and start grinding drops for better gear. Also with TSO the shard system coming up allows for some decent upgrades to most non raid geared people.

I still don't understand why people level a brawler expecting to be a high dpser. We are after all a fighter class. If DPS is your deal then go roll a scout instead of trying to make this class something it wasn't designed to dominate.

For some reason I was thinking the Knuckle Dusters were 2.5 delay. I think I was thinking of the one that drops off the last mob in CoA (The Ryjesium Forged Knuckles). Sorry about that. Like Goldburg said, stick with matching delays.

And I don't know about anyone else, but I pretty much hold agro thru my dps. So that is my reasoning for trying to get it high.

I'll match the delays tonight.

Yes, you're right about being a fighter, I'm not looking to top the parse, just looking to improve. I have a wizzy and ranger for dps. I'm almost always rolling with a guard and 2 healers so speccing for tanking hasnt been necessary.

Thanks for the info guys, looks like I'm hitting CoA often.
