Aeralik has stated that there will be a new rating system for items. Once the character outlevels an item, the amount gained by the character will go down by 2/3 every 10 levels. This will majorly affect those new nifty charm slow items that some 80's tend to use since they are very nice.

And this was removed due to how hard it was to implement and show to the user.

Yep yep. The idea was completely scrapped. I don't know what the actual details on paper were, but if they implimented it, it would just be returning equipment back to how it used to be back in the first year of EQ2. Armor and Weapons would con from green to orange, just like with mobs. If you wore White, Yellow, or Orange conning armor or weapons, you were good. If they were blue, it was time to start looking for a replacement as you leveled up. If it was green, you were only recieving part of the stats the item showed.

A weapon with +10 strength, +15 Agility, +9 Stamina would only give you like... +4 strength, +5 agility, +3 stamina.

This system forced players to constantly upgrade to newer and better equipment every 4-5 levels. The idea was to make sure that players found a use and demand for player-made armors and weapons.

sorry i should have kept up on the forum post better i stoped reading it after page 10 was jsut redundant. I see where aerlik said "We were discussing this system a bit this morning. Functionality wise it is working how we would like it to. However, from a display perspective it really needs some work. In the next month, we probably won't be able to do get this 100% to where we want it so we are going to be turning it off in the next few days. The concept itself is still something we really need in the game. Right now it isnt crucial to have but expect to see it come back at some point down the line in the future."
