I'm sorry, I'm not sure where to put this, but i really need an answer from a Dev on this. There is a post on the EQ2players site, about a new change to patches.Specifically This

Temporary Alteration to Patching

I really need to know, how big this is, in megabyte, or gigabyte. i am on a rather limited bandwidth ISP and going over the limit would mean a month of miserably slow speeds, or some rather insane overage charges. So, i have to ask, how big is this going to be? if i allready have ROK installed. And please, if its more than a few hundred megabyte, add a cancel or suspend function to this feature. or, if anyone knows a way to bypass this, please let me know

So you would rather download it all at once during patch day? I don't really see the difference except when the downloads will occure. Unless you aren't buying the new expantion, in which case, there may be some things downloaded that you might not need, but otherwise you are just getting pieces of the downloads you will have to get anyway, rather then all at once. Even if you buy the disks, you still have to download most of the new expantion stuff, as it will have changed since they put it on the disks.

TSO will be easily over 1GB. The Beta is currently about 900MB iirc.

Not seeing them come down either with the station launcher beta or eq2.exe

Not sure why this is In Testing, since it affects Live, but anywho... The current implementation of this is a problem for Station Launcher users because we cannot set optional downloads to happen in the background. I launched EQ2 through Station Launcher and it wanted to download for 30 minutes BEFORE I could play. I had to switch to the direct EQ2 launcher to get into the game. Presumably it is continuing to update in the background. A friend on a slower connection had to wait 2 hours tonight before he could login. I'm also very unimpressed with how Station Launcher failed to grab the update and I was prompted to update only when I tried to sign into the game. When I check "Automatically Update EQ2" and check all the boxes to automatically sign in, stay signed in, automatically accept EULA, etc. etc. I expect it to KEEP UPDATED so I can just click PLAY and play without waiting. I thought that was one of the purposes of Station Launcher.

Okay so it wasn't just me.

Last night Station Launcher took [Removed for Content] FOREVER ... I had a raid to attend and was seriously thinking it wouldn't be done before then.

I came here and there were no update notes or anything so I had to wonder what the deal was. I thought it was my ISP ... but it appears it was just some huge mystery update pushed to the Station Launcher and not the standard Launchpad. LOL

Ara

Apparently there is some kind of fix to Station Launcher yesterday.
