OK i am an 80 troub and have been for a bit... Now i was under the assumtion that as a scout i wanted chain gear with +Agi stats and +mellee, etc....

After reading gear threads here and a couple other sites it would appear that we should be wearing stuff with +spell damage + spell Crit etc... So help me out here... shoudl i be wearing cloth gear and speccing myself for spell damage rather than CA and melee?

You want scout gear. Leave the mage gear alone, especially if you are going to raid.

T8 Troub melee (auto attack) is going to be or should be your most DPS, followed by CA/Spells.

Don't get me wrong you want "some" spell damage and spell crit mods but more of an after-thought, your primary objective is melee mods, DA, MC, DPS, CA.

I'm still working out whether the order of importance is DA > MC > DPS > CA > SC > SD or MC > DA > DPS > CA > SC > SD. I've not found a diffinative post and my wall/raid tests put DA/MC about even, just what proc'd more via the RNG that fight. So my jury is out on this.

Been said before but;

Agi = 75% and Int = 25% of your power pool.

Sta = HP pool.

Str affects Auto attack and CA damage.

Int affects spell damage.

Hope this helps.

O

OK well maybe i need to change the way i fight...

I start off JC and PoTM...

then I debuff the mob...

and immediatly use bump, then Night strike, then go on down the line...

i dont pause at all for auto attacks...

should i be Hitting a CA, then waiting for Auto attack, then a CA, then Auto attack etc?

I usually parse about equal to what i see other troubs doing, when i fight this way.

You should be looking for Scout gear vs Mage.

OK well last night i downloaded a add on for the ACT parser that dings every time you do an auto attack...

So i would basicaly cast a combat art then ding then ca then ding etc...

With the attack speed increases on it was very quick and only had to wait about a sec so it was not much of a slow down to my usual casting order and my DPS went up by about 200.

I have also been experimenting with spell crit vs melee crit gear... I gotta say the DPS has gone up drastically just from the spell crit gear mixed with Melee crit gear... went from 1100 zone wide in RE2 to 1400 zonewide.

I will continue to experiment with gear as long as no one needs it and does not mind...

And after tlooking at teh TSO gear that i haev seen it seems a mute point as the good stuff has Melee crit and Spell crit.

The reason I ask is if your Spell crit is low you will see a jump in DPS for SC/SD mods...to a point.

Personally I only run with ~28% SC but both melee Dbl Atk/MC are > 40%. I've noticed that your first 30% of a mod seems to provide the best bang after 50% your return on that mod starts to fade.

Being a Bard it is also difficult to "max-out" any one mod w/o hurting another equally important mod. Its a ballancing act. Keep in mind for RoK at least Melee mods > Spell mods. Now for TSO who knows and those that do know aren't talking about it.

35% increase in DPS is great and bard DPS is very gear dependant. Better gear is better DPS providing you're not asleep at the wheel .

Yep the TSO legendary set is pretty nice. I'd like to see what the fabeled items are going to be like. The jewelry is pretty nice too. Some of the affects are pretty outragious for the tag of the item. I'm just hoping it isn't like RoK where the instance stuff was = or > raid equipment when it was released and still is to some extent on some items.

Keep Act running and work on melee / cast rythym till it feels second nature. I keep mine running regardless especially for the 4th hour of non stop raiding. Helps me keep my focus when brain fade starts to hit.

As far as my crit s go... it depends on teh gear i am wearing..

with the melee crit gear My melee crit is 30% and spell crit is 23%.

With spell crit gear Melee is 25% and spell crit is 27%.

I will jsut keep mixing it up and see what i get better results with in the end.

You will want to cast POTM then jcap yourself. Jcap has to be up and running when POTM expires or you wont get the reuse.

True, PotM should be cast BEFORE Jcap, or you wont get the full use of it

Also, if you do not pause for autoattacks, you will loose a lot of dps, on a ZW parse from VP (just an eaxmple) my autoattack is up to 51 % of my damage, and never below 48 %.

The addon for ACT is a very nice help, but I would say that a very good rule is, 2 abilities (Ca's or spells) then a pause for autoattack.. rince repeat..

About the crit, I dont agree with what you want to focus on.

I found that going from full focus on DA (Doubble attack) to MC (Melee crit) I got more dps from it.

My stats are (In raids buffed groups)

MC 56 %, DA 42 % (52 when my earring proc and 62 % if I wear Trooper scale and they proc) and 28 % SC (Spell crit).

This is with gear from a mix of instances and raids (more raid gear than other), and Guild is curretly killing all instances mob exept from Trak, Maestro and Byzola, so this should be doable form any Guild clearing VP.
