After returning to my Inquisitor again to bring her up in levels (she was my first char, but I was inexperienced and didnt exactly have many successful moments with her until I went back now that I have a character almost to 50), trying to be a good support character for my friend´s berserker.

One of the skills seems useless against most mobs though, the punishment on enemy CA use. It states that when the enemy uses a CA, it will inflict damage and stun the enemy, but Ive never seen it trigger. Now I know mobs use almost exclusively autoattack, and spells dont count as CAs, but even on rogue-type mobs, i would get swipe placed on me, which I can only assume to be a melee CA debuff, but the spell wouldnt trigger.

Can anyone tell me what kinds of mobs it will actually have any use at all on? It has a fairly long cast time, and I dont want to waste the time in a fight when i wont ever see any use at all from it.

Well, it DOES trigger for me, but not often in PvE since as yous aid, most mobs dont use CAs much.

Scout and tank mobs trigger it but seemingly not with all skills.

hmm.. would be better to turn it into spells and combat arts then - and make sure it triggers on all of them. we have one for beneficial spells, so hostile spells and CAs would make more sense to me. thanks for the insight

You are lucky if you see it trigger once fighting a Melee mob. Just remove it from you hotbar. Your DPS will go up not using it. It's a sad tale, but the lvl 52 Heresy is even worse. You will be lucky if you see it trigger once a month if you use it vs every mob you encounter. Like our fear and root, both are great in PvP, but useless in PvE.

p.s. Most spells mob use don't even count as spells so that would not help. We need a Coercer like revamp and we need it badly!

well I cant make any comments on endgame content, having only reached lvl 30 and running quests in nek for AA points atm, but it doesnt feel like a very broken class atm. But I do agree that useless CAs and spells should get more purpose.

Maybe revamp heresy and repentance to both trigger on each spell/CA used and stun/knockback the enemy. Shorten their cast timers a bit too because most mobs wont ever trigger it, maybe 1 sec. given on my limited experience, that would sound like a good ground to settle on

We are not broken broken yet but the weight is bending us quite hard. Also the class is fine until level 69. Yes we have some issues (like the reactive damage spells not procing enough) below that level, but the real problems start above it. The AA cap increase and the ROK itemization hits us quite hard. While other classes can gain huge benefit out of both we don't get much or even loose out to to some of our best buffs getting redundant. I still love the feel of the class I love to heal my group while swinging my big hammer and soloing solo mobs is also nice, but later on we lose out on heal power compared to the other healer classes. We might still single heal most / all instances, but we will need much better gear and work much harder to archive this goal. We also don't get a huge damage boost to compensate for that. In fact our damage does not increase as much as almost any other classes damage. If I would not be so much in love with the concept and the lore of the class I might think about to betrayal to Templar. But I also hate the concept and lore of that class as well as their whole city. If you plan to go on at a slow pace an enjoy all the low and mid level content, there isn't much wrong with the class. Stick with it and enjoy your time. But if you plan to extensively play the class at max level you might be better of with an other healer. Maybe Mystic if you like the melee approach. p.s. Sorry if that sounds a bit disheartening, but even I start to lose my faith in this class. It is still fun to play for me, but to see what other classes can do can be distressing.

well the plans I mostly have for my inq is to support my friend´s berserker, seeing as my necro that I currently duo with him really cant provide a whole lot of support, nor the peak DPS he uses to waste trash mobs. and against even-conned double or triple ups, its usually a fight we avoid until they con green

at endgame I might raid or group, but Im not sure how extensively

so Im mainly looking at some decent assist DPS along with rezes/heals and other utility that will allow us to duo even con or maybe blue triple-up content without guaranteed dirt naps
