I'm still narrowing down an alt, if you guys were going to solo primarily, duo for HQs and try dungeon soloing, would you suggest a Mystic, Inq, Bruiser, zerker or a SK? (I already have a 79 SK, but taking a break from the 79 grind)

I started a Brig, but I'm just not feeling it with him. If I get a second critter on me, which happens alot, I'm toast. Stuns are neat when they land, but right now, I miss alot on white conned mobs.

I like my Inq, but being Level 23 with 25 AA's in, I'm not seeing the good damage stuffs. I love plate and the tricks they have, but it's a long road till I see what they can really do.

Bruiser, well, they're nice, but just ain't me in the looks department. Add to that the HQ quests I'll be doing won't generally benefit him. I like to stab stuff with pokey things and have weapons that slash.

Zerker sounds neat, but with the Brig, I'm afraid of lack of healing. I had one that was 60, but deleted him in disgust (this was waaay back in the day though before alot of classes got lovin'.

SK, well, honestly they're my only true EQ love. I would love playing one again, but sometimes if I play a class that I played before I go braindead.

My wifey is maxed on all tradeskills (she rules) and she'll duo with me for the Heroic HQ endings, but I want an honestly strong class that I can pour my time into. Suggestions?

This is the last Alt-itis post I'll do, so you guys are helping me out greatly. Thanks!

My main is a Zerker and I am level 55 and have loved it every step of the way. There is little to zero downtime when playing and I've solod my way up to where I am. I believe I have been in 2 groups this entire time, and they lasted only an hour or so each (which were a lot of fun). I can take on groups of mobs 2-3 levels higer then I (easily) and at the end of a battle, if health is a little low, I just bind wound and start over. There is enough regen potions out there, and I use the Halfling tradtional regen clicky that lasts ooc for a while.

I have tried every class for quite sometime on each class and love my Zerker by and large more then anything I've played.

For me it is my Necro and my Coercer in that order.

My main alt (the one I play the most except main character) is Brig, currently level 42. Maybe in lower levels, specially between 20 to 30, I saw problems with soloing and having adds. But I don't see anymore. Mobs just don't have time to hurt me - they are constantly stunned, backstubbed, turned over and stubbed again. For example, the latest Nights of Dead quest - the one with Haunted house in Looping planes - I didn't even notice it was a heroic (or semi-heroic) instance. My brigand went through all house twice like a hot knife through butter. Dunno though that's because of level or because of class. I tried the same quest with 30 SK - died 4-5 times on the last mob (reflection of yourself) before succeeded and my 38 Dirge couldn't finish it at all without help. So, brigand is still one of the best soloing melee classes, IMHO.

Other than that, you can try Necro maybe - this one is my personal favorite in, probably, all games, MMO or single player. BTW even he died in Haunted house, because vampires charmed his pet and I wasn't ready to this. Was like: "Huh?? That's me you beating! Turn around! Oups..... loading...".

My Brigand is level 49 as of this post. I wanted to bring him up right, so I locked combat exp from Day 1. How many points does your guy have, and are his melee skills all maxed for your level? After I spent the first 50 achievement points, I stopped spending them, the guy was so powerful. I went down Wisdom to the end, so I fight with one weapon only - offhand is empty. The defensive boost is amazing - 8% riposte to all frontal attacks, Parry from any other angle. This, plus being in defensive stance, should greatly improve your survivability against multiple mobs. It definitely does for me. The rest of the Rogue tree went into Agility line - Walk the Plank at level 8 (having to jump over the mobs for back attacks is a PITA, not to mention getting Pinned all the time makes it kinda hard to bounce around) made the class so much more enjoyable for me. Don't forget you can stack different poison types, and the amount of different poisons you can have active increases a few times as you level - right now I can have 3 different ones up (been that way since 40).

You mentioned that you are missing alot? I hope you have MC armor, weapons, and poisons, plus Adept 3 CA's (or Masters, since they are sorta cheap till 40's). Also, rather than get in one extra stealth attack, I will pull from ranged with a Hex doll (Stamina doll, with Hex of Ruin - debuffs the mob's physical mitigation), then as the mob closes I use the ranged CA that knocks them down - as they are on the ground, I'm rushing up to them spamming Walk the Plank, since it's got a 10m range. Once that lands, I use a Rake, then lock them facing away with the 6 second root/no turn CA, and then go to town. Heck, at level 30 I got a 4 second stun, so I use that right before they are about to turn back towards me. They are always half dead (or worse) before they even get a chance to melee against me.

My Brigand is a very, very competent soloer. I've taken out over 300 named mobs already, most of them solo. I rarely die, but at least part of that could be attributed to me trying to be extra careful on the pulls. 86 achievement points so far, with completed quests on hold till the expansion is out.

Jevv is my guy's name, on Nektulos, if you want to look him up. But before you throw in the towel, get into all the T5 MC gear, adorn your weapon with a Vampiric handle to get some health back from time to time. Once you have the achievement points, you will really be a monster. I'm liking this guy so much, I think he may end up as my new main. Of course when I get to 70, I will be grouping with my guildies much more, and so will probably respec my achievements and go dual-wield. But until then, the Wisdom line really helps me solo.
