Hi all,

I recently took advantage of the opportunity to come back and see what eq2 was like. I played from the original game release for a few months (got a Templar to lvl 40) and then stopped out of frustration due to the inability to solo effectively.

After having played for a month or so after returning all I can say is ... WOW. The game is soooo much better now and the level of content is second to none in the mmo world in my opinion.

I started a new character (Conjuror) as I thought it would be better as I thought my original Templar would be gimped due to there being no such thing as AA when i played him. However, I dusted him off the other day and tried doing some very grey con quests to see if I could backtrack and make up the AA deficit and its working slowly . I still have a few really noobish questions though .....

If I wanted to run another account to duo the templar with (perhaps mentor down to get more aa too) I'm thinking a Swashbuckler or Monk. What do you guys think? ANy suggestions?

What are timeline and bloodline quests? Where do i pick them up / start them?

I see flying carpets. I want one. Is there a quest for them?

And finally for noob of the year award .....

What is fertilizer treasure? I feel I'm missing out on a giant pet plant that smacks people about

Many thanks in advance for any replies

What do you guys think? ANy suggestions?

If you want to be using the templar as your main then a nice melee DPS class should be fine - swashbucklers or monks are fine as they offer good dps and can tank the mobs (if you don't want to use your templar for that). If you're happy having the templar as your secondary when boxing I'd suggest a coercer - you will be able to clear some amazing stuff as this duo (mainly using the coercers mez/nuke and the templar throwing the odd heal/stun).

What are timeline and bloodline quests? Is there a quest for them?

There is a questline in Sinking Sands but you will need a group in its 50s or support from higher level characters. There are a new series of repeatable quests in Sinking Sands at the airship docks where you can earn DIRTY money and buy a much slower carpet.

And finally for noob of the year award .....

What is fertilizer treasure? Using various combinations of feed, fertilizer and water you can get rewards from the plant. If you don't have a plant, visit someone else's house and feed theirs!

Many thanks in advance for any replies

Welcome back.

The mark series of spells, which provide one of your main lotto heals, debuff the mob against divine damage, which happens to be the main damage type dealt out by paladins. So this complements the paladin's dps ability (and your own) quite nicely.

Rebuke and its upgrades reduces the mob's resistance against physical damage so any class that deals out physical damage effectively gains a dps boost from the use of this debuff.

Shield ally (obtained from the agility AA line on the cleric tree) works beautifully on plate tanks but not as effectively on a brawler due to the differentce in the way the classes' avoidance etc is calculated.

As a very general rule of thumb, for two boxing, healers work best with the class that wears the same armour type as them (the exception is fury, which makes a great mage healer). This is because of the way the characters are balanced, but it's a very rough rule and you might want to experiment a bit.
