Oh dear, oh dear.....here we go yet again.

I was quite interested when I first heard about the Guild Hall Decorating Contest, here was something in which i could show off my decorating and crafting skills to the utmost. Guild Halls offer so much opportunity for avid decorators, like myself, that I thought I would be able to show the EQ2 World what I was capable of. Then I followed the links, saw the prizes and thought "wow!, that would look awesome on my desk, and give me a very different gameplay experience", but then I followed the link to the Legal Stuff, and there it was, eligibility is confined to residents of the 50 States that constitute the USA. Yet again, the `foreign` players who pay exactly the same as any US player, were not allowed to participate. You can imagine my disappointmnet and chagrin at this, when are the rest of us going to get some access to competitions, or even a competition of our own? Come on SOE, please stop all this secularisation of your players by restricting competitions to only the US. I am well aware, as are most, that laws vary in differing countries, however, I also know that SONY have a massive Legal Department who have the job to sort the differences in legal terms in differing countries, so that Sony products can be sold there. Surely if they can do that, then adjusting the terminology of the competitions so that it suits is not beyond them?

I am, to be honest, getting very tired of being blocked from taking part in these competitions by incompetent Legal department Personel, who can not be bothered to enable the rest of us to take part. There are thousands of us `foreign` players, and, if other games and companies can manage to allow us to take part, then I am certain that competent Legal personel, would be able to allow `foreign` players in Sony games to do so too.

I believe that it has something to do with the laws of all the other countries... Some tax prizes and SOE would have alot of smoothing out to do to give it to all the countries in the world....

Could be worse, I can't afford a guild hall. Having all my stuff crafted on my server, doubling over to test copy, going to try and deco one over there and hope it doesn't get wiped any time soon.

If we were to win, all the stuff would be handed to one of the guild leaders (both in the US) then everyone in the guild who wanted would /rand 1000 with the top numbers getting their pick of the goodies. Which we'd then ship to them.We have guildmembers in many other countries. But darn it, we would certainly manage.

I just wish there was a little more time allowed to enter myself. My smaller guild does not quite have the level yet for even a small guild hall, and my larger guild has had a hall that has been bugged since it was purchased.

And once they done so, it would be just a small step to thigns like this being available to both US as EU players (and hopefully also us non-EU/non-US players!)Just my two copper cents!
