Few noob questions reguarding Adept III and other varied questions.

Hello, I'm new to EQII and decided to play a Brigand for my first go through. I'm having a blast with him and have just hit 22. A very helpful guild mate made apprentice IV for all my skills up to 30 and I have found several adept 1 while questing. I have heard from several people that buying most adept 3's is a waste of time. Due mostly to how fast I will level. So what ones do I NEED? I seem to be soloing quite well right now with adept 1 and apprentice IV. I would rather not waste my time and gold, or the crafters, with stuff I wont need. I did a search but most answers were from 3 years ago and I didn't know how accurate that would still be. Also, what about poisons and food? What poisons are best and are the vendor bought ones good enough? Or should I drop the coin for a good one? I always forget about them and half the time I'm not even using poisions when I solo. I'm guessing thats a bad thing. Same question for food and drink. I have been using vendor but would I be better off with player made? Or does it really matter all that much?

Your guildie is right. You won't need anything above app4s until about 35th level. I chose to do them myself in the mid-20s just because I had the rares laying around and I was also a jeweler so the cost was fuels and that was it.  Even then I only did the attacks and debuff CAs. Even now in T8 I don't care about the agro reduction or snares that much. Stuff never gets to hit me more than once or twice before it dies anyway.
