Hey all,

I just had some questions about our class, however I'm not new to it as i have a lv 36 swash currently but had some important pvp questions just wanted to get covered. Figured this would be better than the real pvp forums since it is dedicated at least to us. Anyways here it is:

1) I just had a typical question about gear, for example right now im all mc with str/sta/agil however when should I start taking reverent or brigandine for str/wis/int or sta/wis/int? Quite confused right now, I keep hearing 50+ u should change over but just wanted to make sure. Also what CA's or abilities benefit from these stats AND what type of armor should i pick over, reverent or brigandine?

2) Now for AA specs, this may be a bit confusing sadly as it is a bit unorganized as I wrote it =p. Well i just wanted to clarify to see if I'm doing fine and taking the right lines as a PvPer, right now I've already finished STR first with 4 8 4 8 2 maxing out toro strike and melee crit and getting trau strike at end. I've recently started AGI, only having 4 2(or 3 need to double-check) and plan to max out WTP as soon as possible. So far i know i need loads more aa as im lv 36 and sadly only have 38 AA points. Although with the points I already have, should I of even gone str first for pvp? I'm seriously doubting my choice, as even though im really uber agaisnt healers by decreasing THEIR casting/recast speeds, MY casting speed really suffers, so long pauses=death so far for me. That's why should I respec into AGI first and max that line out to get 25% casting speed, full WTP, and extra speed? Or does it really matter? Also, SHOULD i max out the 3rd bubble under AGI which is increasing combat speed by 1.3% each point, and just putting 4 points into Savast Ye , the strike? Or other way around. Again sorry if that is confusing.

3) Ty for having the patience to read it this far, as I only have 1 more question. Simple as it is, HOW should I really begin a pvp fight. I know it may sound even stupid to ask but I really want to clarify my tactics as I've been having trouble fighting mainly brigands/sins and especially bruisers, as if they get the jump on me im dead, can't even evac. I dont even know how to counter their own wtp, and stuns as they get many, and bruisers are living hell with their dps as much as a sin and health of a guard. So far what I've been doing is first starting off with Chilling Daggers, (decreases mit agaisnt some resists..applies snare) then using WTP, (walk the plank, turns target around and exposes back) cheap shot (stun) then start off my debuffs quickly by using Kidney blow (does moderate damage/decreases physical damage) Triple Flurry (Decreases Physical Damage, does damage) use Lie Low (casts stealth back up) then ambuscade (stealth-knock down move, with damage) then basically all my other CA's to finish up. Tbh, I was told to do this by another swash on my server, and he wasnt some random person as he had multiple toons, wont mention his name for privacy. Any thoughts on this? I was thinking between the steps of Triple Flurry and Kidney blow also sneaking in my toro strike and trau strike, as they serverly reduce his/her casting/recast speeds. Again, feel free to post your own successful strategies, I'm only looking for ideas, not stealing them.

Well that really is it, I'll post more questions as I find or based off other posts, ty for reading and plz answer =)

-Quicke

1) Keep str agi sta IMO. My personnal priority order for stats in pvp is the following: #1 STR: more melee damage. #2 STA: more HPs. Survivability ftw #3 AGI: more avoidance and often comes together with melee friendly gear anyway. #4 INT: more poison damage. #5 WIS: more magical resists. 2) AAs: AGI line is a no brainer. Lots of cool stuff there, esp Sailwind and walk the plank. STR line too. Melee crits and the recast/recovery debuff are invaluable. I personnally do not use traumatic swipe in pvp but it's a matter of taste I guess, I'd rather spend 2 AAs somewhere else. For the 3rd line, you can either go stamina with a shield (against melees) or dual wielding, or go fencer. Fencer works pretty well until end game tbh. Considering the amount of AAs you have atm, I would go AGI first, for sailwind, then spend remaining AAs in str line. Just my 2c... 3) 1st rule of the fight club is "get the jump". Use track with see stealth/inviz totems up to be aware of your surroundings. If they can't see you sneak to them and open with our stealthed KB. Otherwise lure them in a trap using the terrain to ensure you get the jump. It seems like you are having trouble with classes with many stuns/stiffle. No wonder, those classes always do well in pvp Make sure you cary stun/stiffle immunity potions, as well as signets when you level up later, and use them to prevent their stuns/stiffle.

Hehe, yea knew that stuns are a basic part of pvp if u dont get the jump. I also got some in-game help and found out some of the strategies to work out quite well, however brigs and bruisers are still some trouble, not as much as before however. For AA's I agree as I thought that I should be going down AGI, however I'll see since I'm planning on going on a PoF aa run and CoR if i can, hopefully I can finish that line instead of respecing.

Ty for the post, anything else would be appreciated.

Respecing is cheap the first time. If you are leaning one way or another, go ahead and respec to try it out now while you are leveling up to get a feel for the differences. The faster CA's from agility is not a minor thing in PvP.

Bruisers if played well...are pretty much scout killers...

Your always gonna have a really tough time against a well played bruiser.

If your 1v1 a well played brigand, its going to be a close fight, same with an assasin.

What I will suggest for those is to make sure you have freedom of mind potions (10 sec stun immunity). In a scout vs scout fight its who can do the most damage the fastest. Brigs and sins have more stuns than swashys I believe, sins get an 8 sec stun! If you get stunned in the beginning of the fight your pretty much gonna lose. Freedom of mind is castable while stuned so its a necessity to have them with you at all times.

As far as opening the fight? If they are really occupied and I can sneak up on stealth I will start with my stealth attack. If not, I usually open with walk the plank, cast my two behind attacks, use all my debuffs then unload the rest of my CA's.

After that if thier not dead it really depends on the situation...if others are incoming or whatever...

If you are fighting a caster/healer, you need to use torporous strike and traumatic swipe from the str line as much as possible as that will really decrease thier dps/heals.

Now a smart coercer? Just evac man...
