i've had this bug for a while i guess and im not sure what it is... i've included screenshots. i cant pinpoint why it happens and it can happen at character select or in game. freezes my game when it happen for at least 10 - 15 seconds and i can remedy it by minimizing my client and then maximizing it again.... i play in windowed mode.has anyone every experienced this and does anyone have any suggestions on how to fix it?http://i120.photobucket.com/albums/.../EQ2_000023.jpghttp://i120.photobucket.com/albums/.../EQ2_000034.jpg

I get game freezes occasionally as well lately.... Your screenies do not really show the issue though unless I am missing something.By the way, it is against the rules to bump a thread *wink*

Haha.. well you could have been more specific in what I was looking for you know... lolI like those cloaks though.... Have you updated all your drivers?

I had the same glitches with my old Nvidia 8500 GT card. It was random and the driver updates never fixed it.. Now i have an 8800 Ultra and the glitches never happen.

I saw the same gemstone pattern when I opened a Harvest depot in a guild hall.... Perhaps you have a custom UI?

Hope this isn't hijacking the thread... but your problem reminded me of my own I've been having since I updated my drivers several days ago. Been having this problem pretty frequently and it forces me to restart the game every time it happens to clear the glitch.http://i58.photobucket.com/albums/g...phicsError1.jpghttp://i58.photobucket.com/albums/g...phicsError2.jpghttp://i58.photobucket.com/albums/g...phicsError3.jpgI've got an NVidia 8800GTS and have Windows XP, 32bit. Anything to try? Besides buying a new card.

As soon as it turns back on, start holding down the F8 Key. You should be offered a option screen then instead of it booting into Windows right away. You will want to select SAFE MODE with NETWORKING.

Windows will now load, but it will look different from what you are used to. Install and use the Driver Cleaner program, this will totally remove any old drivers for your video card.

After it is finished go ahead and install the DirectX. After this is installed, you will need to reboot the PC, and load it into SAFEMODE again. This time go ahead and install the Video card drivers. Once done, go ahead and reboot the PC normally and try again to start the game.

Please respond if the issue persists after following the above steps.

Thank you for the info! I will try that out for sure and see how that goes. One question though: I had originally updated the drivers because I had a few stop errors occur pretty close together and that was suggested to me to fix the problem. Would rolling back the drivers bring back the errors? I'm pretty unfamiliar with this as this is the first time I've had to deal with this sort of happening.

Unfortunately I seem to have bad news. Everything was running perfectly until Monday night 10/21 when this happened:

http://i58.photobucket.com/albums/g...phicsError4.jpg

I rebooted the game and things haven't been going wonky there since then, but I did have another strange occurance just today. I went to boot up EQ2, my computer was thinking on it for a while, then shut it down and when it crashed, even my desktop was resembling that screenshot. Can't recall the error message in detail, but it told me to reboot my machine.

When I rebooted my computer, Windows let me know that this was the error that occured:

STOP 0x000000EA THREAD_STUCK_IN_DEVICE_DRIVER

Since I've already cleared out the old drivers and installed the latest ones, what are my options from here?

The picture of the most recent error really looks like a heat issue or possibly a bad overclock. Is your graphics card factory overclocked?

Masako

The card isn't overclocked in any way (checked its box to make doubly sure). The only adjustment ever made to it was to increase the fan speed. I checked the GPU temperature while in the middle of playing EQ2 earlier tonight and it sat at 47 degrees celcius if that helps.

Edit: As of today (10/26) I did have another glitch like the most recent screenshot. Rebooted the game and things returned to normal, but as soon as I exited to my desktop, I got an error message that started with "The nv4_disp driver has stopped working normally..." and said I would need to reboot my system to restore functionality. This was the same thing I described in my earlier post, but I wasn't able to get the specifics of the message before. Hope this is of some use!
