You guys over at Sony should make a commercial for EQ2 advertising the next expansion - People like me who have'nt played in awhile would most likely miss it. And people who are'nt playing might get lured in.Also with so many games out, The big ones have been making commercials and such advertising, which i feel has always been missing for EQ2 and would change alot.

Atleast "contribute" to the wealth of the sites that "talk" about games, there are so many sites where u can find info about MMO's and such and on all i found eq(1 or 2) are usually bearly mentioned... It was by pure luck i got into eq then eq2. Just chip in and get your game mentioned, i can't imagine how a bit of advertising would harm you or your pockets when clearly adv woudl only bring new customers in... Besides eq2 is one of the best games out there yet ppl play wow and other games...

All shops where i live have shelfs full of other games, WoW, Warwhatever, Wavewhatever, Killwhatever but i have yet to see 1 copy of any Sony game...

I couldn't buy the hard copy of this game from local shops even if it would be my only wish in life...

How hard can it be?

the only EQ2 game box I saw was on sale for 5 euros lol.

while you see everywhere ads for the new WoW expansion and you still can easily find the original game box. You can hardly find EQ2 box in stores and nothing about the new expansion.

quite sad for sure, with all the lore around the new expansion, they could do something great ^^

The game is a good one. Far as I'm concerned the best one out there. But it's like SoE are embarassed or unsure about it. Rather than employ advertising, the tried and true method to get customers, they make the game lurk at the back of the pack by failing to grasp the attention of retailers and possible customers alike.

I'd love a TV advert where someone being shown the features of EQ2 exclaims "Wow!", only for someone playing alongside them to lean in and say "no, better than WoW, amazing" and wink knowingly at the camera.

Instead of enjoying more revenue from a large customer base through advertising, they're playing some kind of mind games with existing customers. Bringing in LoN to insidously "convert" those that are perfectly able to have chosen not to go that way towards embracing RMT as a means to generate revenue. There's words for that kind of thinking, and none of them are pleasent.

I like the game, but it's difficult not to imagine the folks in charge as wearng hooded cowls cackling as they unleash force lightning upon interns.

All they really need to do, is make the trailer for the expansion (if there is one) into a commercial and it would catch so many eyes. Something as simple as http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G3Va...feature=related

Not likely to happen. I'm sure they have calculated the ad cost vs. potential draw and it is just not worth it to them. If many stores do not carry the game that tells you a lot right there.

TV ads are expensive and not profitable for video games. But there are so many other mediums to advertise, like online ads and such. It's a shock that there aren't more of those around. When the living legacy promotion was going on, I saw them all over the place on MMORPG.com and such, but nothing for TSO.

TV Commercials? That would NEVER work. It's not like you see WoW on TV every 30 seconds.

/sarcasm off

On a serious note. Even IF they had commercials there are zip, ZERO retail stores that even stock their product. Sony has no problems getting the PS3 stuff right next to the Xbox and Wii stuff. Why can't they get EQ2 on shelves right next to Warhammer, WoW, AoC, LotR, and every other MMO.

Only reason I picked up the original EQ was because I knew one of the original programmers. D*mn him. Nine years of addiction thanks buddy. Otherwise I would have never even looked at EverQuest.

Everquest I was that obsure computer game some of my college buddies were insanely addicted to. I actually vowed never to play as I feared never seeing the light of day again.... Guess that didn't work out. But it would be nice to see more mainstream advertisement for the game, as it is really fun and better then that other massive MMO.. Imo.

SOE Advertise? I think not. Why add new player? They wait for Word Of Mouth..that gammer god that sells everything. Too bad he only works for WOW. I see artcles of that game on yahoo front page every month. Never EQ2.

Not sure how SEO expect to sell a game when it s not on store shelves and the DD is not known.
