Ive checked FAQ and other sticky's, but didn't find suggested AA build lists, and most of what I did find was circa 2005 or so.

So, I am looking for a link to AAs that a soloing monk would find most useful and the order in which to get them. I am only L17 ATM but would love to benefit from the experience from my older monk brothers.... Hopefully there would be AA lists for the soloer, for the grouper, for the raider, etc. Hopefully you can just provide a working link.

Also, I have not found a good "Monk" site. I know about tenton and alla, but is there a site devoted to monks?

Thanks for your replies....

/scruffies

At level 17 you should concentrate on getting your bare handed STR lines built up as its going to save you stacks of money in the interim and it gets you 96% double attack After STR work on INT until you can max out the melee crits and then go back and fill out as much of the AGI tree as you canstand till you get to the reuse timer decrease AA.After that be sure to max out the heal AA in the monk tree as its a big big help.Im at work at the moment but if I think of anything else I will let you know.Veg...

Personally, I've gone 4-4-8 in the INT, AGI, and STA (in that order) on the Brawler side. After 70 and the additional 20 points can be added to the tree I may respec a bit, but I'm not 100% sure on that.TBH, I haven't been very impressed looking at the Monk tree, so I don't know what I want to get on that one.

Thanks Veg for your reply....

I have spent my few points so far on improving heals, but at my low level, that is not going to help keep me alive much...hehehe.

What do you mean by saving tons of money? Would you max out each of the STR tiers, how far down do you go in STR?

Thanks for taking your time to respond.... was hoping someone had already laid it all out, but I guess not.

/scruffies

PS: What is the "go to" site for monks not counting wiki, alla, or tentonhammer, or is there one?

edit: barehanded to save cost of fist weapons? I have a L80 necro who can fund what my L17 monk needs, so money is not an issue. Not sure why a monk would not want to use fist weapons to add to his damage.... am I missing something? So given that I have a small stack of plats available, would I STILL invest in STR or would another build better suit my soloing efforts?

The main reason people suggest STR line to 4-4-8 is for the 96% double attack when you have the bare fists. Someone worked the numbers up and found that it's comparable dps to having MC/Legendary weapons, but without the cost of said weapons. However, in T7 that stops being the case as you start being able to get a) better weapons and b) lots of DA from your gear anyway. For myself, I hated how slow I felt I was with the STR line, even with the DA, so I went back to using fistwraps or fighting batons. Sometimes it's about "feel" and not whatever the min/max best is said to be.

I love to solo with my Monk. I totally aggree with Veg however I maxed out Heal first (that's up to 50%). Another suggestion would be to get Parry in the INT line.I didnt' go all the way down the STR, I stopped at the double-attack. I didnt notice a difference when getting the riposte AA.Yes, the STR unarmed does feel slow and it hurts to think I dont have the extra stats and resist but having played with and without it, getting that Double attack is pretty awesome. Pressure Point is a great debuff for the lower lvls too.I first got Heal, then double attack, Crit/Parry and now I'm working on AGI.Good luck and have fun.

I would highly reccomend going all the way down the int line if you're soloing. The end ability there makes you critical hit 100% of the time, essentially DOUBLING your dps. From there, your goal as a soloist should be figuring out how to stay between 20-30% hp for as long as possible to maximize your damage. Try things like holding onto your mend for as long as possible rather than using it when you hit 50%, or saving your stuns and knockbacks until your hp is low. Learning to chain-stun a mob is very useful here--we can actually keep a mob incapacitated for a fairly long time. Eagle strike is also extremely useful if you're soloing--you know that "cannot see target" error you sometimes get when you can't see a mob? Well, mobs get that error message too, and if you spin the mob away from you, it can't see you and therefore can't hit you with anything but its spells and combat arts (and most of mobs damage comes from their autoattack). When you get higher up and have tsunami and outward calm, pop those at 30% and you'll have 12 seconds of critical hits without having to worry about your hp even a little. Hope that helps!
