Currently I'm duoing with an Assasin and we're having a great time dungeon crawling (we're low 40s). I've read the Paladin FAQs at Wikia and was following an AA suggestion for a solo aggo/dps and survive build. But now that I'm duoing, I'm finding that my role of just slash-kill-kill-then heal has changed. Now I find I must keep the mobs off of the Assasin and also heal him.

The problems I'm facing is keeping the mobs focused on myself so the Assasin can dance around and attack from their back (plus to kill them off if they can see him cloaked). Don't have a problem with aggo as almost everything attacks me on sight (lol), but when they see him cloaked they just home in and will refuse even my taunt at times. With his low mitigation (chainmail is the most he can wear), I have to often stop swinging the sword to heal him, or such a mob will eat through his armor.

Currently I'm putting most of my AA points in the Crusader tree. Is this right, or should I put it in the Paladin tree more at this stage? Put 29 of 40 AAs into the AGI/STA/INT lines as suggested for an OT build (trying to keep mobs under control @ AGI - 4/4/3 | STA - 4/3 | INT - 4/4/4), and trying my best to keep the MIT high (wearing all MC Feysteel even). But now have read that the STR line is where Pallys get most of their power, something I'm really lacking 1000points below my max health. Without the power, I'm usually out of it by the end of the mob, and it's takes forever to regen, despite eating the best regen food. :/

How must I balance the four lines when the mob control builds have AGI/STA/INT as being more important? Do I put 2 to 4 points in the STR line to try to build extra power (so needed for the area effect attacks and heals); or try to find as much STR adornments and jewelry and let that make up the difference?

Finally, in the Pally tree which lines should I put the points in for a duo built with a high dps partner? I love to play with area effect spells as it's so much fun knocking back and stunning the mob, then having the sword smite and the Assassin dance around the fallen. Should I go down the Divine+Heal lines and work down to center one with the mobs? Or Work on Heal+Hero lines at this stage?

This class is really hard to figure the AAs (and sadly most list T8 specs, which don't fit in with T4 specs -- don't even have enough AAs!).

I duo alot with my wife's swashy or other alts she has..

Im currently t8, but I will give u my best advice from duoing that should also apply to t4 and up.

Duoing works like solo actually. To be able to do it efficiently you have to go offensive style..

Try to be 45-50% avoidance and 45-50% miti with a sword/board and use your offensive stance. Get as much melee crit/melee da, spell crit as u can without sacrificing to much avoidance / mitigation.

U can go as low as 35% avoidance and 45% miti and still be able to solo green/blue heroics pretty descently.

Upgrade your amends line to master if possible.. I believe you should have a 33% version of it in the low 40's, and you'll get amends at 48 or 49.. With the dps u should be able to put out along with the amends line that assassin should not be able to steal aggro from you..

Focus on getting these AA's first(in that order)... (Int 4,4,8, Sta 4,4,8 and Str 4,4, Then work your way towards Smite evil, then towards Block(hero).

After that its just a personal choice.. U get more haste from str line(which I hear will get changed soon) and u get more hp and divine aura in sta line)

The most important thing u can ever do when duo'ing though, is CHOOSE your fights.. make sure dont take on more than u can handle.

What's confusing me is choosing between AGI and STR.

AGI line brings up my avoidance to decent levels, and I do get that trample skill which is sweet with mobs.

STR offers more power and kills the mobs faster.

So which is more important? Dodging an attack or getting hit more but have more power to kill?

This prob wont matter much when the Xpac comes out since the AA lines are all changing. New abilites and such so I wouldnt put much into finding the pefect setup until that happens.I would mostly agree with vulkan for the most part...But here is my 2 cents. Until you get amends your going to have problems with keeping aggro or pulling aggro with a pally. So I would reccomend the Stam and Str and Int line. Str for the advanced hate gain and Stam for the meele crit and int for the Spell crit. One you get amends (if you can find a master good luck!) get atleast AD3 (39% hate transfer) But Agian though this wont matter when the xpac hits.

Newbie questions here:

1. So what are the amends?

2. And do they only become available after like T6 when folks can raid?

3. What is an "AA mirror"?

Secondly, will the AA lines be very different in the new XP (especially understanding more what tree is good for what)? That I like to know because there's limited respecs without paying serious plat!

1. amends transfers up to 41% of the hate generated by any player in your group to you. Pretty darn neato 2. amends spell is a lower level spell that doesn't really get upgraded at all. So I think by 50 you have it, and you just keep it all the way up to 80, I'm rusty so i may be a bit off. 3. AA mirror is simple. You get one made in game. (ask your guildmates as its pretty common to get a "reflective shard". Freind bought one at 60pp 9 months ago. Now they go for 2 gold. but you get it made, go to your house in game. place it on the wall, and now you can save the last spec you tried out for your aa's. Once you save your last spec, you can try out a new one, and then go back to your mirror, and reload the better one you tried. If you try one and its completely crap, then save it, reload your other one, then respec, and try again. It's an art form, but youll get used to it. Then... when you hit 80 for a few months. It will do nothing but show you how good you look in armor and collect dust.
