Normally the melee attack effect handles this and returns false so that extra portions of the spell like dots on the assassin or swashbuckler debuffs don't land. So since it currently doesnt return a false the additional effects always apply. This will of course impact pvp because they don't have to worry about hitting but will always debuff you regardless. The tricky part is that fixing this will likely have some sort of impact to pve as well. I don't want spells that work one way in one fight to be totally different in another so this is something we are discussing and how we can minimize the pve impact. The issue is noted though and it's something I am looking into.

Double up is buggedAeralik said it is bugged 4 months agoAeralik said it fixing the bug is something being looked intoStill no word into how the fix is comming.

I've come to the realization that the developers will never fix Freeport classes, instead they'll keep removing Qeynosian class abilities. This is why the Brigand population is insanely high right now. Even on Venekor I'm seeing 2-3 new Brigands a week/month depending on what tier I'm in at that time.

Until then all we can ask for is known bugs to be fixed.

My understanding of the situation was this: Double Up is NOT bugged and never was. The bug was with brigand debuffs applying even if they missed. The REASON that they applied when they missed was because of how double up worked, but double up itself wasn't bugged.

Atleast thats how I understood it. In which case (assuming I'm right) there was no bug to fix, and the change to make debuffs NOT apply if they miss was enough to fix the issue, and you're complaining about a problem that has already been fixed.

they fixed it with gu 46 or 47, relax. just because you don't remember it doesn't mean it didn't happen.

I think I'm wrong here. Reread the update notes again and it said something about brigands attacks not landing on a miss without mention of double up.

double up isn't broken, never was. the abilities associated with double up were.. and were fixed.
