Hello everyone. I'm completely new to EQ2 and having some problems. I just don't live very long). I know a lot of my problem is that I'm new to the game. I could really use some tips on the strategy I should use during 1 on 1 combat. I'm level 14 at the moment. I'm following the AA advice of a post by Arctura. Any help would be greatly appreciated! I'm glad I finally found a mmo I want to stick with.

This is absolutely incorrect. Concealment is not the only way we get kills. We have a great defensive stance which can be AA specced and skyrocket our avoidance with a shield. Yep, believe it or not ... shielded assassins are beasts in lower tiers. There is also the agility line and/or intelligence AA line which can make kills much easier to achieve. Make sure that you spec your stun and stifle in the assassin AA chart, as those are both very important moves.Great strategies are to stun, run behind, use the back hit that drops us into stealth, and follow up with the stifle. This works extremely well with the agility line being specced (as it reduces our casting timers by 30%).Lowbie assassins are great fun, require some degree of skill and timing, and can be very deadly. Don't worry about rushing up to a high level to be able to compete. It's not necessary.

No T8 assn should be using a shield in pvp imo...you will find yourself on the losing end of a 1v1

Err... I use a shield in T8 and I do just fine. I rarely belt or diety spell except for 2 v 1s and my avoidance floats anywhere from 62-66% with a crappy mastercrafted shield. Auto attack on a dual wield isn't going to win you every fight. But, we all have our own styles. You are dead wrong about the shield, though. I kill many, many people.I macro the shield equip for fights that I want the extra avoidance and keep the dual wield offence stance macro for when I need higher offensive skills or don't need to worry about avoidance much (mage fights, etc)Also, wasn't he referring to lower tier PvP?

That is truly one of the great things about our class is that there is no right or wrong answer when dealing with AAs, weapons, etc...
