So there's a rumor flying around that level 70 gear worn by level 80 players will have their stats reduced. Any confirmation on this?

I can't comprehend a reason for this change at all - I have it confirmed that it's on the test server in beta.

Will have to wait until the NDA lifts to hear all the details and whether it is true or not.

Anyways I believe the reasoning is to diminsh the reasons why folks would want to wear lower tier gear and make sure the current tier gear is always more desireable.. not only 70 items.. but lvl 75 items as well such as the thugga quest line rewards and some T1 drops too.    it's a change for the better IMO it makes the new gear better then the old even it it's the same bonus. expecialy when the cap is raised.

I know me personally I don't think it should effect your current tier, but yea should effect all previous tiers, but again that might be more of an itemization issue then really any other issue. The thugga quest item is just one of the more obvious items i am refering to as it really shouldn't be hit with this.

<p>It seems to me that if the game is designed right and the itemization is done right there would be no need for this.  As you level you get access to more powerful gear.  A level 80 should have LONG since found replacements for any tier 5 items and have no interest in them because better stuff is available to him.</p><p>Since that's not the case, and there IS a good reason for level 80s to be wearing crap from EF, I'd say they messed it up.  As is usually the case with SoE when they mess up, rather then fixing the original problem, they slap on yet another patch onto the game to cover it up.</p><p>I wonder what side effects this is going to have which will cause yet another patch to be slapped on the game in a few more updates.</p><p>Patches on patches.</p>
