A while ago when I swapped from my old X850PE card to a 7900GTX card I saw a different look with EQ2 it was slightly less defined in some textures (about the same overall). Well I am now looking to upgrade my 8800GTX but not sure which video card I am getting now but I al looking at the new 4750 1GB or the Nvidia 280. I am fully aware that this game is primarily CPU dependent, but what I am looking at is the IQ between the two brands. I know as it stands I have a shadow texture issue when it rains in QH. I cant recall if I had this same issue on my old ATI but I would like to know if that will go away on either card. I am not looking to start a flame war I am looking at IQ over the two brands so I would love to leave AMD suckz or NVidia is getting pwned out of this topic.

the short answer of it is, its a toss-up.

the 280 will allow you to run other games besides SOE games at mich higher framerates than the ATI one will, however the ATI one will give you better overall IQ than the nvidia one, but probably at a small performance hit.

if youw ant the IQ, go with ATI, but be prepared for buggy game performance sometimes due to ATI not being the "prefered" choice for video cards for SOE.

And at the speed of the card and EQ2 (I only play Company of Heroes for a second game) they both should run the same. With the limitation being my CPU as I have 4GB of ram and that is not the limitation.
