I've recently decided to reinstall EQ2 and am required to go through about 24 hours of patching.Anyway, I've come to work today and connected my laptop via my wireless internet connector and have found the usage is draining heavily. Firewall shows the following;Connection: patch.everquest2.com: 7011.However I have not opened EQ2 and cannot see it or the launchpad running in the background. Even after a reset this occurs. Apart from blocking the server, is there an option to turn off this background patching? Thanks

With the launcherpad thingy you probaly want to turn off the optional downloading under PREFRENCES

I've got all optional downloads unticked and made sure I've selected Download Immediately rather than Download while I play (I have alternated between the two as well)There doesn't appear to be any evidence of a Sony or EQ2 process running which is very odd

How many people are connected to your wireless system? Could be a neighbor hijacking your signal. Potential guildmember maybe

It doesn't appear to be doing it from there. I couldn't risk using up the usage on the 3G card....pricey $$$.Thanks for everyone's assistance.

This kicks off a series of BITS jobs that will continue to download the files when evert eh machine is connected to the internet. On the current patcher it is in the preferences screen, on the beta patcher it is in the options screen. Note removing the check mark will not clear the BITS download queue, what is there will contine to download until it is cleared. There is a command line utility that is built into vista to clear the queue, for XP you have to download it from MS
