View Full Version : New to the game, Question about Achievments
I've been reading up about the monk here on the fourms and everyone is saying that Str is the way to go until later levels. What im a little confused about is the Monk tree. Do i completely ignore that achievment tab right now and pump str in the brawler tab or what?

my advice would be yes, works for me presently. turn off the xp, do as many quests as possible and watch that monk fly. You won't need to spend any cash on weapons either!

I'm sure that their are more experienced monks who can give you more detailed info about speccing out your toon, alos their is a ton of info/discussion/arguments within this here forum. I thought i'd just add my two shillings

Once you have 17 or so AA's to spend in it Str line is great before thats its soso those early levels I think I stopped using weapons around AA 13 or so1 in the starter, then 4 , 4 , 8 going down str line is a good way to start out =D You are not stuck with these choices later on you can( and will ) respec your AA's at the mage tower in south qeynos, forget which colored circle you use.Yes forget the monk tab of the tree till you have 50 aa or soOther lines to look at other then strength are agility, intelligence, and wisdom, most endgame specs use those three, you get to pick up to 2 to go with Str line for cheaper leveling =Deditwhile I am not currently in favor of turning off combat experience in order to do massive amounts of quests for faster AA gain, it does have its benefits. You won't be outleveling your gear or upgraded combat arts nearly as quickly.ps. save everything that can be equiped or scribed that is treasured item quality or better, place it on the broker for (well server prices vary, on mine at least 2gp) Harvest shinies and tradeskill materials - place on broker don't undercut prices on rare harvests the professional tradeskiller generally buys multiple rares at a time =D

If you like to solo, I recommend putting 5 pts into Heal in the monk side then the STR like you planned. I swapped my heal for combination and almost immediately changed it back. That heal bonus makes a big difference when you solo.
