I was wondering if there is any chance Troubs could get more cc options. It is very common to see grp's either want a dirge and or chanter for thier grp. And I don't blame them and it sucks only really getting picked up for raids.(edit: ok doesn't suck but I enjoy grouping just as much as raiding.) Thinking now that chanters are so good at dps that Troubs could see a boost in thier cc powers. And well every grp needs a tank and everyone knows dirges go better with tanks then troubs. Short term grp mez, long recast, along with about 10seconds cut off our single target mez recast would be great. I would even give up runspeed aa's for it. Or give up mmm countersong is perty useless, think I use it once a week. Could get rid of charm as well, though I do use it often as a back up mez substitute.

it is a great idea that has allready been spammed on official forums, and instead there was the nerf on the single target mez and all non enchanter CC spells. But it will help troubs by giving them acess to that group niche spot reserved for enchanters. and no countersong is not a disposable spell, most of our CAs and spells are though given they only bring dps which is easily tweaked, the str debuff as well as i've seen no serious damage reduction through testing.

I do not want to be an enchanter. Troubs are wanted in more than raids. I get invites to pvp groups, veskar, re2 etc all the time. yes, some tweaks are needed or would be nice but I am where I need to be.

you still won't have the cc abilities of an enchanter, you won t have a plethora of different mezzes to handle any situation, but you will bring the cc pick up groups need to be able to kill somespecific bosses when runningzones like re2, veksar or maidens.you will still be far behind an enchanter in efficiency given that you don'thave acess to many stuns stifles and dazes which allow you to drasticlyreduce the damage output of most mobs in this game.of course it's possible to do these zones without a chanter but grab yourself a pick up group and you'll see how it goes for most players.

Don't throw away your charm that easily.  In most groups I tend to use it more than mez.  Mez is often called upon when you get adds, and what do some people do when they see adds?  ...start hitting all thier AoE's or that "uber-dps'ing-blender-of-a-scout" starts thinking he should secondary tank ... Charm also gives you a alittle more damage to the intended mobs for a short durration, and when it breaks, mez is usually up or the intended mob is dead.   Though, it is a pain in the butt when someone doesn't announce they think we're dead and evac and low and behold, there is Mr. Add sitting right there with you.  As far as charm and mez vs enchanters: when ours breaks, we usualy have a better chance of living through a hail of physical abuse.  I always asumed that is why we were given the short end of the cc stick.  It gives the tank a couple more seconds to taunt it off before it starts looking bad anyways.I would like to have some usefullness with cc in raids though.

Not sure we need more mez abilities for raids though. We already hold a spot in raids, but not so much with groups. And when we are needed for back up mezing our current mez is ok, not so great though if we need more then one mob cc'd.
