Greetings,I recommend following these steps to correct any problems caused by Vista.1. Navigate to the Sony folder (Default: C:Program FilesSony)2. Right click the 'Sony' folder and select 'properties'3. Go to the 'General' tab4. Uncheck the box that says 'read-only' at the bottom of that window5. Select 'apply to all files/folders' when prompted<p>1. Right click on the program launch icon2. Left click on "Properties".3. In the new window that pops up click on the "Compatibility" tab.4. In the "Compatibility Mode" area check the box next to "Run this program in compatibility mode for:"5. In the drop down list make certain that "Windows XP (Service Pack 2)" is selected.6. Under "Privilege Level" make certain that the box next to "Run this program as administrator" is checked.7. Click on "Apply" then click on "Ok".8. Right click the program icon and select 'Run as an administrator'</p>You can actually avoid a lot of these problems by installing the game to a directory besides the 'program files' directory. Vista tends to automatically write protect files you put in that folder. I use a seperate 'Games' folder on the C: drive and don't have to worry about the read only issues.

There was also a patch right from Microsoft for EQ2 and Vista. They used to link you to it but they don't anymore, and I can't seem to find the download on Microsoft.com anymore either.
