I would like to pass a big thanks to the guides. After hours and hours of grinding quests with NPC's that tell you a set story, it is nice to flex my RPing muscles and have a conversation with a quest character. I think my troll has even scared off a few gnomie guides. =) I, and hope many others, really appreciate the time you spend on the servers giving us variety and an escape from the norm!

I'd like to throw my thanks out to the many dedicated guides that do take the time to do little events and fun things for the players. I know alot of my best memories from the game are silly little guide quests and events that they set up. so thanks you guys, you make my playing experience that much richer for your efforts.

*agrees* The guides do a great job, and I thoroughly enjoy all the events I manage to find. Just yesterday I had a nice coversation about Innoruk with a dark elf guide.

Yes yes! Halden (I hope I spelled that right!) was on Unrest last night and was having a bit of a scarecrow problem in Gorowyn. I had to come up with ideas to make his scarecrow 'scarier'. I did my best on short notice and Halden gave me a cool Halloween robe. I never wear cloth for appearance armor but I've been running around in that robe since he gave it to me...it's cool looking! Having a guide participate in fun things like this was really refreshing! Way to go guys!

Slips the guides more coffee so they stay up later
trovan2 wrote:

*looks confused*

What are these guide quests I keep hearing about? And how do i get them (i heard people get neat items/titles)? By being in the right place at the right time, or hearing an announcement and hauling your pixels over there.I've had the honor of encountering Guides 6 times on my main server (I guess they don't appear on Test, Exchange Servers, or PvP servers, per Domino... unlike Guides, I *do* appear on Test, intermittently, and that's where I heard this). Each time I encountered a Guide, the challenge they set before us "Adventurers" was fun! I will certainly continue watching for more opportunities, since their stuff is fun even aside from the nifty goodies they award. Though those are definitely fun too. *grins impishly*Thanks people, your efforts are greatly appreciated! Thanks also to Lady Domino, for helping make their stuff better - I enjoyed testing the quest she was running, and I'm sure folks where the Guides appear will enjoy the one she's cooking up, too. Quite some chef, that Halfling!

Well, this is all cool and stuff - but why is it I only find out about the guide events AFTER they happen? Is there not a head's up we can get? Also - apparently we had two guide events in August on the Oasis server (just read about them yesterday ) and both happened during a work day, during work hours. We are not all college kids here, many of us have full time 8-5 Monday - Friday jobs. So, all that being said - I love the idea of guide events and I want to participate in one ... someday... I have been playing since beta and have yet to know of one ahead of time and be able to enjoy the event. Please, can I play too?

Ironic since most the guide events I hear about occur in the wee hours of the morning, or on EST wehn Im PST.

Still I totally agree that if you can find them, they are a lot of fun to do. I've made it a habit to type /"who guide all" every now and then when I play. So far I've found 3 events and rushed one of the Deverry's over to play, each time completely worth it.

So thanks guides and lets see more of you!

They wish to make your playtime a bit better IF they can, but they are restricted in their play times just as you are.... Some of them have been seen lurking about the Server forums announcing when they will be on... Not all are posted, but some are.

Oh - I completely understand. They have their own schedules to work around like the rest of us do. I think it's a wonderful service they provide. Please, no hard feelings intended at all. I will make a habit of checking to see if they are online when I am and hope to catch an event in the future. Also - if they do any more guide recruiting (while my lore knowledge is not the best) I will apply. Would be a fun thing to coordinate and do. Cheers and keep up the great work!~Jinksie

While not all of the servers do theirs the same, most try to at least give the occasional clue as to when they are happening.

Now, of course we won't announce ALL of thems ahead of time, just because we want some to be a surprise.

As for the recruiting. Fiendish, thats what you are Its a way to start though, the only way I know. Unless of course you trip over a frog on a dock, and notice while falling that the stars you thought were spinning around your head were actually leaves spinning around the frog
