Hi... I have a 23 Monk in MC chest, legs and 2 MC weapons. She soloes beautifully so far. I also have a 21 Coercer (temporarily) betrayed to Illy and an 18 Assassin.I plan on playing all three. My friend reactivated his account tonight and rolled a SK on my server. This is a bit exciting because I haven't had a chance to duo/group yet and I'm looking forward to doing so with at least 1 of my charas.I'm really tempted to use my Monk. Would it be totally redundant to have 2 fighters duo? I cannot find ANY info on this duo in any forum here. Just the fact noone seems to have asked this before makes me think it won't work (well I know any pair can duo and be fine but I want it to be FUN not just fine)Have any Monks duo'd regularly with a SK? What are your opinions on this combo?I don't mind soloing my Monk and rolling a Dirge or Defiler to play with my friend but I'm curious whether Monk would work, she's the only character I've spent money on so far and she does great damage whilst taking very little. At the same time, I can see myself soloing her with relative ease.

A monk brings high dps (for a fighter) to the table, can provide a crapload of additional avoidance to the SK, plus if the SK takes certain AA's he can "siphon" some of the monk's mitigation to himself as well. The monk has a decent sized heal he can cast on the SK, though only 1x per 3 minutes. Still.. in a close battle, that could be what you need..... And then there's the monk's haste and casting speed buff that the SK would appreciate too.

The SK and monk can both FD, they can aggro bounce if needed... Sounds like it'd be a pretty fun combo to me, actually.

Thanks! That's very useful info.Tonight I rolled 2 charas on a pvp server, neither is a monk, although I've tried several classes so far and love Monk, and I know they are meant to be pretty decent in PvP (if played well) but I wanted to try my hand at playing two classes I haven't tried yet with some extra risk.I'd like my Monk to be my main focus on PvE (and my friend does NOT want to play PvP) so I'm happy to think we can do well and have fun with that combo. I'm quite willing at this stage to let the Assassin and Coercer/Illy wait till I have solo time and level them fairly slowly and just enjoy the (so far) decent content at each tier. I think the Monk might be the best soloer of the three (at least so far) but I'd like to play her in a group because I'm most comfortable with her and she has a lot of variety.I know Monks are less desirable at end-game but I'm optimistic that any well-played under-utilised character is welcome over a poorly-played fotm chara. So she is my PvE choice for now. At the same time, I acknowledge I'm pretty low level and I will roll a new character (I have one slot left) to play with my friend's SK if I think it's better/more fun just because I know I have the confidence to develop my Monk on her own if I need to.Therefore, further opinions are most welcome!

Monks are great fun, while we're not on the must have list for groups, most raids want 1 of us along =DAnother big plus is the we can go anywhere lifestyle we live, self cast invis, feign death, group feign death!!!!However if yer gonna duo you may want to grab a healer . Tank and Healer( which you'll have) plus 4 random others = group for most dungeons / instances.
