Before I actually do the city betrayal quest. Can a SK stay a SK after they do the quest or dp the HAVE to change to paladin class. From what some of my guild mates say yes they can stay as SK but all my abilities and spells revert make to lvl ones.

You didn't specify which server you were on.

But --- if you are on a PVP server, you can remain a SK when you betray. Part of the last LU allowing all classes for each City Faction.

I'am sorry about that. I'am on nektolus. So in theory I should be able to stay as a SK after the betrayal.

Sorry you can't =( Only applies to PvP servers where a person can betray and stay his same class due to exile reasons, but on pve it's the same rule where if u betray you HAVE to change your class.

Sadly you're gonna have to become a paladin, since nektulos is a pve server.

Not so...once you betray you're put in Exile status even on PVE servers. You'll still be whatever class you are, but things will not be as convenient as they once were. Exile status is designed to be a transitioning state, but you're still allowed to change your mind and go back to your old ways. You'll have a lot of faction grinding to do, but if you don't want to change who you are, you won't have to. Of course, most people who go through the heartache of betraying want to go through with it and change their class simply because it's a lot of work that can be otherwise avoided. The only real benefit to betray and not change yoru class is to get a god you otherwise would be denied because "good" or "evil" god prophets won't talk to you if you're aligned with the opposite faction. Betraying removes that restriction, but IMO betraying just for that reason isn't worth the amount of work you'll have to dump into fixing your faction.
