More memory would help. Unfortunately the 6600 is considered a low end cardNeed to see some portions of the MSInfo, specificly the startup programs, services and running tasks to get an idea what else is running on your system.You might want to update the sound drivers, it is over 2 years out of date.

Could have sworn I updated the sound driver a while back, no idea what happened there. Anyways its updated now, and I already mentioned above I turned off the background programs and it was from msconfig as well from start up programs. It would be just wasting more posts if I post msconfig but if you truly need to see it I will.

I will be getting a 256 ati graphics card soon if I can find agp on newegg or something, im saving up for a better computer and really dont want to upgrade more ram for that reason.

Game engine is CPU bound, not GPU bound, that's why performance is bad. Won't do jack all untill something drastic changes.

well, if you take a look at the hardware guide for EQ2 in the performance support forum here, you will see the $600 PC option. i can PERSONALLY vouch for both the E7200 CPU, AND the GIGABYTE GA-EP35-DS3L motherboard from that list. you will most likely have to upgrade your ram to DDR2 ram, but that is ~100 bucks for 4 GB (2x2GB), so that is pretty cheap too. if you were to upgrade most of your system using this motherboard and CPU as a base, you would be looking at ~$450 bucks total for motherboard, CPU, ram, and video card. that does not include shipping of course. i would personally substitute a geforce 9600GSO 768MB video card instead of the ATI one in that list, but other than that, that system listed there will run the retail E7200 with the stock heatsink and fan at 3.16Ghz easily. the default for the E7200 is 2.53Ghz. you WILL have to manually change the CPU multiplier in the bios to 9 or 9.5 (i forget which) to get the E7200 to run at it's default settings with the F4 bios that ships with the motherboard currently. upgrade the bios to the F5 bios, get a better heatsink and fan for the CPU, such as an artic cooling freezer 7 pro, and you can easily OC this CPU to 3.6-3.8 Ghz STABLE. this will give you a FAR larger increase in performance than keeping the CPU at stock speeds and upgrading the video card to the ~$200 9800GTX 512MB. the game is simply far too CPU bound, so you will always notice the biggest performance increase with the CPU than with the video card.

Thank you friend, this is helpful still 400 dollars is a bit much. Id much rather get a new computer espically considering I barly know anything about how to build one myself and mess with the things you suggested.
