I have been having a low FPS issue since the Thursday after the GU.

When I get character select I notice it there, as well as in game.

I brought up my little box that tells me what I am getting for fps, bps, pkt, and Ping; and lemme tell you it is the lowest I have ever seen it. If i stay still, I get about 14-20 fps. When I move it goes down to 4-5. My BPS goes any where from 300's to 1,000's, with it being 4-5 FPS. When the issue first started, I watched for the processor light, as it usually lights up when I have lag spikes. There was no light on when I was moving in game and gettin low FPS, and during what I thought were lag spikes. I went out to the north-westernern part of Ant (was doing harvesting live event) so I wouldn't have anythinganyone by me to see if maybe it was lagging due to rendering objects/npcs, still low fps. I went into first person and stared at the ground while turning still same issue (used to work for the old EQ).

I am getting no errors, and my computer or game doesn't crash anything.

My friend, who lives in another state, had issues the day after LU as well. He was crashing right before he got to charcter select. After a few days of trying to get ingame, his computer crashed/went out and now won't turn back on. FYI, we don't send anything to eachother over the net or email, so there would be no related reason we started having problems at the same time. The reason I bring this up is thaT I am hoping it something with the game files and not my system if we both were having problems the same day in different places.

My info from DXDiag for sytem:

System Manufacturer: Gateway System Model: 506GR BIOS: Default System BIOSProcessor: Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 CPU 3.40GHz (2 CPUs)Memory: 1022MB RAMPage File: 381MB used, 2068MB availableWindows Dir: C:WINDOWSDirectX Version: DirectX 9.0c (4.09.0000.0904)DX Setup Parameters: Not foundDxDiag Version: 5.03.2600.2180 32bit UnicodeCard name: NVIDIA GeForce 6600 GT Manufacturer: NVIDIAChip type: GeForce 6600 GTDAC type: Integrated RAMDACDevice Key: EnumPCIVEN_10DE&DEV_0140&SUBSYS_00000000&REV_A2Display Memory: 128.0 MBCurrent Mode: 1152 x 864 (32 bit) (60Hz)Monitor: Plug and Play MonitorMonitor Max Res: 1600,1200Driver Name: nv4_disp.dllDriver Version: 6.14.0011.7516 (English)DDI Version: 9 (or higher)Driver Attributes: Final RetailDriver Date/Size: 5/2/2008 22:46:00, 6108160 bytesWHQL Logo'd: YesWHQL Date Stamp: n/aVDD: n/aMini VDD: nv4_mini.sysMini VDD Date: 5/2/2008 22:46:00, 6554496 bytesDrive: C:Free Space: 52.7 GBTotal Space: 186.4 GBFile System: NTFSModem connected via USB

What I have done thus far:

Restarted gameRestarted computerFull/thorough file scanHard reset my modemWent to different zones - NQ, SQ, Ant, QH, TS; same FPS issueTried various class/race alts, same issueCleaned out my CPU, all fans including the fan on vid card I have no visible dust/dirt anywhere.Downloaded vid card driversOpened CPU and put a fan blowing on vid card (thought maybe the card was over heating, which has caused display issues in the past)Ran SpyBot S&D, avast anti-virus; nothing found with eitherCalled my provider, they sent a hit to my modem to reset it, advised no outages in my area and connectivity appears normal, and all web apps and video downloads are normal, if not fasterUsed Task manager to quit all irrelevant programs and set priority to highLoaded Test server, downloaded updates, same issueLoaded into Beta, downloaded updates, same issue in character select, server lockedLogged into EQ Live, no apparent issuesLogged into LON, No apparent issuesRe-downloaded UI files for EQ2MapChecked Recycle Bin for any deleted files, no files in binRestored my computer to a day before GU went live, then downloaded updates, same issueDefrag'd my hard drive. I'm having the same problem.... I'm getting like 4-5 fps when I used to get 30, it makes the game almost unplayable... and paying for the service I would expect a little better response on our problems.

I too have been having a similar issue. Standing still in Kelethin at the broker by the Old Kelethin Lift with no one else on that specific landing; I usually get between 20-25 fps. When I start moving it drops to 4 fps, though after about 10s of moving alone it goes up to about 6-8 fps. The worst is everytime I engage an encounter and start combat I drop to 1-3 fps which usually lasts the duration of combat. When I was raiding (ended up having to leave the guild I was with due to this issue because it was impossible for me to do what I needed to so I could contribute to the raid force) I could hear people talking in voice/vent and the trash mobs in SoH would usually be at between 20%-25% hp left when I would hear the raid leader call as to if a chest had dropped or not. From the number of people with similar issues that are posting on here this is not just an "irritation" issue but a severe quality of gameplay issue. It is not like I have a 5 year old laptop either... I have an Acer Aspire 5100 series laptop that is just over a year old, it has an AMD Turion 64x2 1.6 Ghz dual core processor, 2 Gb of RAM, an ATI Radeon Mobility x800 with 256 Mb vid memory, and more HD space than I really need (somewhere around 950 Gb). When running EQ2 I run it in full screen mode at 1280x800 resolution (the native resolution of my display). Fully updated ATI graphics drivers. I know it is not some massive gaming rig, but it is not that shabby of a system and I should not be expirencing that bad of performance on it. As it is right now, the game is for all intensive purposes unplayable in the stat that it is running right now.(Edit: I forgot to say that I am using ProfitUI and have the graphics settings turned to "Raid" quality and then turned it down a little bit more. I can't set the graphics any higher or I get only 1-3 fps constantly, even standing still.)

Have you all downloaded or installed any new software? If you post a DXDIAG we may be able to gather more information on this FPS issue.

No, I have not installed any new software, in fact, I recently did an entire system format and reinstall of just the barebones utilities needed, then I installed EQ2 and the only thing that I have updated is the EQ client. Is there any way I can attach my DXDiag text file to a message on here so that I don't take up 5+ full posts with my DxDiag info? Or should I just start a new thread with that info? Whichever would be easiest.(Edit: Hmmm, ok, guess the DxDiag info isn't that long, I have just seen some people posting massive posts and it took several posts to show all their information.)
