Hi All,

Don't usually have any issues running eq2, but since I re-installed my Computer Running Vista 32bit, and reinstalled eq2 using the digital download version and have had issues after every patch update since.

I lose all my UI settings, Hotbars Chatwindows etc. And have to set them all up again, and all is fine, and then when I get another update.

Since reinstalling I have to run the game as Administrator to get it to patcher updates to work. Otherwise it just runs the analyze function, and then stops and gives the download button, and then does the same thing. I then close the patcher, and right click on the EQ2 icon and choose run as administrator. This time the patcher works properly and updates.

The really weird thing is I never had this issue previously. I even save my UI settings in game after setting up my chat windows/ hotbars again. However after the update I cannot even see the saved file......

Very Strange.

I would rather not spend 20 hours downloading the eq2client again

Can anyone help? Is this a Vista issue?

A thought.Did you install EQ2 in the default directory? Vista can be over-protective of that location. If so, consider creating a directory in another location (I prefer giving EQ2 its own partition) and copying (or moving if storage space is limited) the game to it. Make sure your shortcuts point to the new location. Launch and see what happens.EQ2 should not have to be re-installed to try this. A simple copy or move of its files/directories will do. The only issue I see is that when installed in the default location Vista "might" have flagged files in a way that causes your problem. Those files (prolly any UI and configuration related files) "might" need to be deleted and re-patched.A bit of history. I built a new rig with Vista-64 last year. Rather than install EQ2 on it, I simply burned much of the game onto disks, copied those onto my EQ2 partitition and let the patcher download files I had no room to save. The game runs well for me under Vista. My only issue has been "out_of_memory_requesting" crashes, but those vanished months ago thanks to a combo of Vista updates, new nVidia graphic drivers, and Sony EQ2 patches.-Roybob
