perhaps it was a rhetorical question...<div></div><div>but seriously... i'm in my early 20's with my brig atm and with the 14 AA's i have now, i've gone through the wis line (4,4,4,1 so far). I am doing this just because i like the look of the one-weapon (dagger especially) animations as they seem to be the only ones remotely close to how people actually fight with one weapon (i've been on a few threads in "look and feel" section about combat animations already...so i'll stop there).</div><div></div><div>however, my question is, am i crazy for doing so? i've read other threads about how the wis line was all the rage in KoS, but it fell out of favor in EoF for some miniscule number-crunching reason that escapes me. however, ultimately, just because it fell out of favor, does that mean it's completely useless and i am therefore gimping my character later on?</div><div></div><div>now, i'm not looking to be the top-dog DPS mamba-jamba. i just don't want to be gimped later on. i'm not a big raider, but i do like to group, and with the quickness i'm droping even to yellow con mobs at the moment, i'm sure me, a decent tank and a good healer could smack around heroics of equal to + 3 levels with little problem. however, will this trend continue? is there some mystical bell-curve thingy that makes me the completel opposite when i hit T7 or T8?</div><div></div><div>yes, i think math is magic, and it scares me a lot. <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></div>

<p>Are you crazy? Considering that you didn't take the time to spend a net of 5 pts in the Agility line to get Walk the Plank, I'd have to say yes. Please, please respec your AA and shift those 5 pts over. You'll notice a world of difference.</p><p>Having said that, AA lines are something of a subjective thing. In the end, people use to the Wisdom line to save money while leveling. However this line really only shines if you're wielding an amazing weapon in that single hand. So unless you've got some kind of crazy Legendary+ weapon, I think that the line is rather wasteful.</p><p>To be honest, I've never liked the Wisdom line. So my answer is going to be biased. Why should I have to pay AA pts for DPS that I could get for free while dual wielding? From that perspective, I see the line as somewhat dumb considering the current weapons and gear available these days.</p><p>But honestly, play whatever makes you happy. It's your game. Just make sure you pick a combo that feels right and let the chips fall where they may.</p>

the AGI line was my next step. but i was going to go 4-4-4-4 first.<div></div><div>and yes it does kinda suck that i have to pay for what i can get for free dual wielding, but the dual wielding combat animations are terrible and since they don't seem to even thing there's a problem with their animations, then i have to find an alternative. and it's an alternative i'll live with.</div>

<p>I have a level 32 Brigand (combat exp locked since level 1) with about 53 AP's. I went down STR line, *only* until I had the points to get the end-line WIS ability. Then I respecced over to WIS, and haven't looked back. After getting 4-4-8-8-1 in WIS, I then went to STR to max crits. After the 47th point, I just started saving them, because I was feeling pretty overpowered on my PvE server. Sure, I could have dropped another 3 points on the Rogue tab somewhere, and I could have started on the Brigand tab - but I just don't need any of it right now.</p><p>An example: at level 31 I soloed Bruuhl Firerock in the Thundering Steppes. He's a 29^^^ Heroic giant who always gave my other toons fits with that Boulder Throw ability of his (drains power and hits for damage).</p><p>I roll in offensive stance exclusively, because the defensive bonuses granted by the WIS line are pretty sweet. 8% Riposte is nothing to sneeze at - just ask any Guardian or Brawler with the STA tree filled (commonly called "Buckler Spec'ed)! I throw out a lot of damage fast, but if it's a multiple-mob encounter, or an add happens by, I'm usually not forced to evac. I regularly solo ^^^ Heroics that are blue cons - I took down Incaulebis the Maleficent just this level (he's 31, but since I recall him being more difficult in the past, I wonder if he was tamed down at all).</p><p>I mostly solo, but if I group I can equip a weapon in my offhand and the WIS endline will still function, and my DPS will go up a bit. But until I get to the 70's, I will probably remain in the WIS line, I like it that much. Once I begin grouping more often than soloing, I will then replace the WIS points with AGI for the Pirate Stab stuff.</p>If anyone is bored or curious and wants to look up my Brigand, his name is Jevv. On Nek.

I have a 25 brigand with 40 aa (admittedly I was duel boxing with an inquis and he was my 'tank' so needed more survivability) and I went full WIS line, then STR.Can solo blue ^^^ names with him. Only has MC grear, but fully adorned. Fairly uber spec imo.
