I just purchased this game last night over the Station Launcher. I'm really eager to play, but unfortunately I cannot. Basically I can see the character creation screen and that is pretty much it. When I click play on the character select screen after creating a character, the following loading screen begins 'Loading Resources' and crashes to my desktop. At around 70% 'Loading Resources' the music reverts back the character select screen music 2-5 seconds before the game crashes to my desktop. 95% of the time I do not recieve any error message. One of my attempts to play I recieved this message on my desktop: E:liveeq2frameworkresmansrcResourceManager.cpp(169 ):0 = = m_pRefMap. I'm really not too sure what the problem is, and why I'm unable to get in game. I've tried several solutions listed in other forums. Among those being disabling/allowing Everquest 2 in my firewall, turning off UAC, setting the program to administrator and to run in XP Service pack 2, changing the 'Everquest 2' folder's properties by unchecking Read-only (only for it to magically reappear), changing the 'Everquest 2' folder's security to allow on all users, and turning off voice chat in the character selection screen (I heard that helps?.) I also opened all the ports listed in the knowledge base for the game in my router and I still can not log in. I'm pretty sure if I connected it straight to the modem it would not help as well. I've been reading how I could resolve my issue since this morning and was really hoping to find a solution before I have class this evening. If you guys have any insight on how this can be resolved please let me know. Oh yeah I forgot to mention my all my drivers are updated, to my knowledge at least.

Well I never even got to play this game. I didn't even get any tech help. Enjoy my $30 SOE go by a couple of pizzas or something :/.
