Since GU48 it has been exceedingly noticeable that after a few zone transitions my EQ2 performance suffers so much that constant hard drive thrashing becomes so bad it becomes quicker to quit the game and restart it than to wait for it to sort itself out.

As an example I got myself to Kunzar Jungle entrance and my page file was about 2.5GB in size, it took EQ2 several minutes to quit thrashing the drive and therafter everytime I moved more than a few meters more drive thrashing ensued. Compared to me then camping out and reloading EQ2 which cleared about a GB of page file space and reverted EQ2 performance to as expected levels with me being able to run about with little drive thrashing until after a few more zone transitions.

Did something happen to the memory management during the zoning process? This behaviour exhibits on both my desktop and laptop, one runs XP, the other Vista with vastly differing specs so I can only surmise that it is something directly related to the client itself. Yes you may like to ask if it is due to my net connection but I think the visible and audable drive thrashing is somewhat telling in that department.
