OS: Vista Home PremiumRam: 4 GBCPU: Core2 Duo E6850 3.00 GhzGraphics: ATI Radeon HD 2900 XTPlaying in windowed mode.I've been playing this now for many months without any issues at all.However, just today I've started to get Crash to Desktops in Fens of Nathsar.Just get a windows box popup to say the application has stopped responding.Nothing new has been added to my PC in the last couple of weeks.EQ2 Crash Log gives:build="SOEBuild=5082T" version="SOEVersionString=2008/9/5 9:29:47" build_type="USER OPTIMIZED" ls_address="none" zone="exp04_rgn_fens_of_nathsar" loc="-768.16 60.91 -262.00" performance="7" stack="10022eb5 1009adc6 10077d23 1001d290 7619e3f3 77cacfed 77cad1ff "Anything new I should be aware of, or anything I can do to prevent this happening?

Make sure you have protection before interfacing with an older used PC.Also Do you get the error in fullscreen mode?

Feel free to PM me the contents of the EQ2_crash.log or EQ2_crash_old.log file in your client install directory.

CTD - Crash To Desktop! I haven't tried full screen mode for a while as I tend to browse web pages alot whilst playing. (FF3)I'll try that later (when I finish work) and see how it goes.And I've PMed both logs as requested.

I also experienced my first CTD in ages here, last night.Judging from the crash log it seems audio related? (I assume mss32.dll = Miles Sound System).Using an X-Fi (with Creative ALchemy) here.Call Stack:
0x21115F04: AIL_sample_volume_pan+64 0x00A8A96C: MemoryManager::allocate+1ebc2End of Call Stack

Stack Scan:

0x0012FCD8: 0x2111B330, in D:GamesSonyEverQuest IImss32.dll 0x0012FCDC: 0x11E67790, in ???????? 0x0012FCE0: 0x2111B3B0, in D:GamesSonyEverQuest IImss32.dll 0x0012FCE4: 0x00A7CD26, in D:GamesSonyEverQuest IIEverQuest2.exe
...

Lantis, can you select EAX instead of Dolby and still get the error/CTD?

Trevor this issue is effecting many others as you can see in this thread here:http://forums.station.sony.com/eq2/...topic_id=429201In my case, I have tried every sound selection available to me in EQ2 with no difference in behavior, I'm still crashing uncontrolably during raids - I'm lucky if I last a fight over 1 minute long without a crash

TSR-TrevorG wrote:
Lantis, can you select EAX instead of Dolby and still get the error/CTD?
I am already using EAX 4.0 (emulated through Creative ALchemy). The Miles Sound System handles all audio modes AFAIK - EAX, Dolby and software are just "output drivers" sitting on top of the Miles audio sub-system.Note however that I have only experienced one single CTD so far, despite numerous hours of raiding and grouping in the last week, so I am not really worried. I was just providing my own experience in hope it might help others - people having frequent CTDs might want to change their audio settings and see if that helps them. One thing I'd try fiddling with is either the audio shifting option (forgot the exact name), or the adaptive combat music (I read at least one person solved his issues by disabling this option). Autenil probably has a better idea of the issue by now since I saw a few persons submitted crash logs through PMs.Ciriex, were those crashes in VP? Because I think there is (or was) a different issue specific to VP. Last Saturday, my whole raid force simultaneously crashed while working on Myliex, and when we got back online the whole wing had respawned.
