I posting here about a rather odd problem I'm having with the game thus far. It only happens at the character character, either when im trying to create a new one, or happen to leave it there for a random period of time (sometimes it takes a couple minutes to happen, sometimes it happens really quick).

Basically what happens is my computer just goes into "standby" mode, but doesn't go all the way to sleep, and I can't wake it up, i have to hold iin the power button and turn the tower completely off, and restart. There doesn't seem to be an ill-effects, however, its *VERY* annoying since im just coming back to the game and still playing around with characters and what not. What makes it very odd is that my computer isn't set to go to standby, ever; I have to manually shut it down.

I have no problems actually playing the game itself, but again, this is very annoying, and I want to try to resolve it.

Anyone have any ideas?

I can play World of Warcraft, Star Wars Galaxies, and a number of single player games without any problems what so ever. This is the only time I've ever come across this problem, and it only happens at the character select or character creation screens. As I said before, I can play the game itself without any problems.

Since thursaday's hotfix to LU 48, My friend has been crashing right before Character Select.

He gets the load screen, but right before the select screen loads >BOOM< He crashes. Every time.

I think LU 48's hotfix has something to do with all these problems. I don't know what was changed, but we haven't been able to play all weekend...

(control+alt+delete) this should either bring up the task manager (windows xp) or bring up a screen that allows you to choose to open the task manager. if you can open the task manager, then manually close the game without having to use the power button method you describe above. doing that can cause irreparable harm to your windows file system, and eventually may lead to you not being able to boot the system at all.

No key combinations seem to "wake" the computer back up, manually turning the power off is the only option.
