Hi i recently left wow to come here to eq2 were lots of my friends play but im having a hard time deciding on a class to play and was looking for some help. When i played wow i played a swords rogue that was in a high end raiding guild. My question is i have been dinking around with a assassin since i came over here but am getting kind of frustrated with it as i dont really like the dagger type rogue from wow feel of it if anyone knows what i mean. I would like to play a melee dps type class that has good solo ability as well as can be used in raids, i was looking at bruiser but my friends told me that they really arent used for raids and i really dont want to try to tank if i can help it. Unless of course it is viable to get into raids as a bruiser, really i want to play a melee class but dont want to play one that is useless.

Any help on a class or a suggestion would be greatly appretiated.

Thanks

Forcing a comparision here a bit:

Brigand is the stunlock combat rogue. It can also kill an ill-equiped opponent just as it comes out of stun and can solo decently .With the proper spec can tank much better than a rogue could ever dream.

Assasin is somewhat like the ambush/backstab rogue but can use axes, spears, swords as well. It has the biggest melee damage in game (or at least it is supposed to )

You might also like the swashbuckler as they are generally a sword wielding rogue, can tank when needed and can put up some numbers in the dps dep. Also the rogues are not restricted to using daggers

Most class's don't fully develop until the start reaching the higher levels (lvl 55+).

However...Brigand would be another way to go...their can't DPS the way an Assassin can, but their Debuff's are top notch and are highly sought after on raids...

i to have just come over from wow and i 2 was a combat raiding rogue. I wanted something similar in play stlye and after a long hard look i decided on a swashbuckler. they are very similar to a rogue from wow but about 100 times more fun and mine is still really low level. i would higly recommend a swashy to you if u want something like a rogue from wow you wont be disappointed

for me rogues and brawlers are quite alike. They do great dps, like to stum mobs and kill fast. Both can tank.

but brawlers are not scouts. and they have maybe only one positionnal attak.

Assassin do great dps in group. they are not as good soloers as rogues because most of their dps is positionnal and sneak and when soloing it's not as easy. since they don't have much stuns.

for weapons, rogues and predators are only restricted to piercing and slashing weapon and can even get a roundshield.

for the rogue it depends where you want to live? evil or good. If good, then you'll be swash. If evil, then Brigand. Both are quite similar and are great at soloing, grouping and raiding. but you only take 1 or 2 brigand/swash usually in raid. o yes they are needed if there are not too many rogues in your server.

everyclass can raid (or almost), but if you take the most played class, it will be harder to find a guild.
